I just really thought Morton would be brought back on a reasonable 1 or 2-year deal. I was very surprised that the Rays offered him that much. I'll still be amazed if he stays healthy though. Wasn't it just a 2 year/$30M deal with a 3rd year club option? Yes, but $30 million guaranteed for a 35 year old pitcher who had averaged 110 IP over the last three seasons (and has never thrown more than 170) seemed like a lot. I would have said a 1/year $15M deal with a 2nd year club option would have been perfect. Of course, obviously he is earning his money so far.

Wasn't it just a 2 year/$30M deal with a 3rd year club option? It's a vesting option for the 3rd year. Can't spend more than 30 days on the DL for 2019 and 2020 combined to get the full $15 million for 2021.

"Supposably means capable of being supposed. In other words, it describes something that's capable of happening. Though supposably is a valid word, it can be tricky to use in a sentence, and isn't often used in modern speech. ... Supposably is frequently confused with the similar-sounding word supposedly."

I’m glad Luhnow finally DFA’d Reed. He was just taking playing time away from others who want to play, are willing to put in the work and may have a chance to make it in MLB at some point. I doubt Luhnow finds a trade partner willing to give up anything for him. Maybe someone will claim him once he is put on waivers. If not, I hope Luhnow will just release the guy.

He has his average up to 318 and his ops up to 952 as well. Damn fine stuff there. I wonder if he gets pushed up to RR this year. He seems to be the hitting machine he was advertised as before the draft. I wonder what his d looks like at 1st.

Chad Donato and Leovanny Rodriguez got promoted to AA. They both made their debut for Corpus today. Donato started and pitched 6.2 innings, allowed no runs on 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 10. Rodriguez came in in relief and pitched 2.1 innings, allowed no runs on 2 hits, walked none and struck out 3.

Man, the Messkins have really become imaginative with their given names recently, haven't they? Whatever happened to the Joses and Albertos of the Latin world?

Hmm...., interesting. Tucker was not in the Round Rock lineup yesterday. He didn’t start todays game either, but entered the game in the 8th inning playing first base.

That spelling made my brain hurt. One of the guys on the Tigers mlb board used to say: "The idiot doesn't even know how to spell his own name." A couple of years ago, Carlos Sanchez apparently thought his name was too common. So he changed it to Yolmer. I have to admit, that's yooneek.

Tucker and Matijevic both played some 1st base tonight and Beer was not in the line up for CC. Interesting.
