This was posted on MLBTR shortly after we traded JD Davis to the Mets:
“Astros GM Jeff Luhnow spoke to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle (Twitter links) and other reporters about today’s five-player trade with the Mets, noting that New York “was aggressive” in asking about J.D. Davis. The Astros weren’t originally thinking of moving Davis, but Luhnow explained that “there was enough of a market for him that we decided to go ahead and explore it because there’s no obvious spot for him on our 25-man roster next year, at this point.” The Mets’ inclusion of catching prospect Scott Manea as part of the return going back to Houston “was a big part of it for us,” Luhnow said, due to the Astros’ lack of catching depth. “
The Manea kid is looking good for Fayetteville.

The links are just not the same...He went millennial on us. Yep, his line by line by player stat is much better. But after so many years, I don't blame him for retiring.

I liked Davis too, but he was blocked in Houston. The trade to the Mets was good for his career, I think.

Ok. Internet seems to be working nicely this morning so here you go.
From games played April 9:
AAA - Nashville 3 Round Rock 1 Myles Straw CF: 0-5, BA .250 Derek Fisher RF: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR(4), BA .278 ... attaboy. Build up some trade value son. Jack Mayfield SS: 1-3, 1 2B, BA .400 Yordan Alvarez LF: 0-1, 3 BB, BA .316 ... looks like they decided to pitch around him after his 4 HR weekend ... our #3 prospect per MLB.com Kyle Tucker DH: 0-4, BA .111 ... stole a base(1) ... he is 2-18 so far. Maybe they are trying to adjust his swing to shorten it up a bit? ... our #2 prospect Nick Tanielu 2B: 1-2, 1 2B, BA .200 AJ Reed 1B: 1-3, BA .105 ... 2-19 so far this year. Alex De Goti 3B: 0-4, BA .111 Garrett Stubbs C: 1-4, BA .083 ... 1-12 so far ... our #14 prospect Forest Whitley RHP: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K ... nice AAA debut .. our #1 prospect Cy Sneed RHP: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
AA - Frisco 12 Corpus Christi 4 Ronnie Dawson CF: 3-5, 2 2B, 1 HR(1), BA .211 ... I’ve noticed this guy has been a notoriously slow starter so far in his pro career. Look for him to heat up in the second half. He was 1-14 coming into this game ... our #13 prospect Stephen Wrenn RF: 0-4, BA .294 Abraham Toro 3B: 1-3, 1 3B, BA .182 ... our #23 prospect Granden Goetzman DH: 0-3, BA .118 Joshua Rojas 2B: 0-3, BA .308 Chas McCormick LF: 1-4, BA .231 JJ Matijevic 1B: 0-3, BA .105 ... 2-19 so far .., our #22 prospect Lorenzo Quintana C: 0-3 Anibal Sierra SS: 1-4, BA .111 Jose Hernandez-Urquidy RHP: 4 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K Gabriel Valdez RHP: 4 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Advanced A - Fayetteville 7 Frederick 2 Bryan De La Cruz RF: 1-5, BA .333 Scott Manea DH: 3-5, BA .421 ... this guy is the catcher Luhnow got from the Mets in the Davis deal. I don’t know how well he calls a game or frames pitches, but he has thrown out 30% of runners attempting to steal so far in his pro career. If he can keep hitting, he may be a keeper. Gonna keep an eye on this one. Seth Beer LF: 3-4, BA .333 ... our #10 prospect Jake Adams 1B: 0-3, BA .316 Colton Shaver 3B: 1-4, BA .250 Michael Papierski C: 1-5, 1 2B, BA .211 Chandler Taylor CF: 2-4, 1 HR(1), BA .167 Jonathan Arauz SS: 1-3, BA .158 ... our #25 prospect ... to get that ranking he must have one heckuva glove because he hasn’t shown that he can hit a lick. Alfredo Angarita 2B: 0-1, BA .200 Bryan Abreu RHP: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K .. this is the kid Luhnow put on the 40-man roster last November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft even though he had never pitched above A ball. He had 90 K’s in 54.1 IP combined at Short Season A and A ball last season. Another guy to keep an eye on ... he’s our #8 prospect Christian Javier RHP: 4 IP: 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K ... he has dropped out of our Top 30, but I still think he is going to be a good one
A - Quad Cities 2 Clinton 0 Ross Adolph RF: 0-2, BA .111 ... our #30 prospect Jeremy Pena SS: 1-3, 1 2B, BA .150 ... our #27 prospect Enmanuel Valdez DH: 0-4, BA .263 Scott Schreiber 1B: 1-4, BA .350 Alex Holderbach C: 0-4, BA .182 Marty Costes CF: 2-4, BA .286 Andy Pineda LF: 0-3, BA .200 David Hensley 3B: 1-4, BA .063 Trey Dawson 2B: 2-4, BA .286 Austin Hansen RHP: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 11 K Shawn Dublin RHP: 4 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K (Wow. 20 strikeouts and no walks by our pitchers)

I'm having more and more doubts about Tucker's potential... He’s not doing anything to help his case so far this year. I’m wondering how much longer Reed will be around. Looks like a wasted slot on the 40-man roster to me. The guy is 25 now, right? He was Kentucky’s Friday night starter. Seems like I read somewhere that he has asked the Astros to give him a shot at pitching some this year. They may as well. What do they have to lose? Seems like fat boys have a better chance at being successful on the mound than any other position. He has a Sabathia-type body.

I think he'll get one more chance, even if it's just a small one, at the MLB level to see if he can be decent power hitter. I don't see any reason to waste time on him as a pitcher. If he can't get things together this year, just let him go. Maybe he can salvage a career in Korea or Japan.

I’ve noticed that JJ Matijevic has played 1B in all 5 games for Corpus so far this year. He didn’t play any 1B at A or Advanced A last season. He only played 1 game at 1B in Short Season A the summer after he was drafted.
Seth Beer has played 2 games at 1B and 2 in the OF this season so far. He played a little over twice as many games in the OF than he did at 1B in A and A Advanced last season.
Yordan Alvarez hasn’t played any at 1B in AAA either last season or this season and only played 5 of 36 games at 1B in his time at AA.
Looks like Matijevic and Beer (maybe) are our best hope for a 1B prospect right now.

I'm having more and more doubts about Tucker's potential... I can’t figure the kid out. I’ve been a huge proponent of his, but it’s starting to waver. He’s proven it last season in AAA. He still needs to show evidence that he can hack it in the pros. I haven’t been too impressed so far with his swing.

Round Rock going into extra innings. Tucker 0-4 so far. Alvarez 3-4 with 2 doubles and a home run so far. He is making his case to be the next call up over Tucker if and when someone on the MLB roster goes down with an injury. I noticed they had him playing 1B last night. He has played most of his minor league games in the OF. I just checked his fielding stats and found that he has played 259 innings at 1B in the minors and hasn’t committed an error at that position. He played 1B almost exclusively in his 2 seasons in Cuba.... 498 innings at 1B and only 9 in the OF. It will be interesting to see how he is used going forward. If they aren’t extended, Brantley, Reddick, Springer and Yuli will all be FA after the 2020 season so Alvarez could be needed at 1B or in the OF in 2021.

Concerning Tucker, I am hoping that his slow start is the result of the team trying to adjust his swing and shorten it up a bit. He has done well with that long swing in the minors, but I don’t know how well it will play day in day out vs ML pitching. An encouraging sign...although he went 0-4 last night, at least he didn’t strikeout any.

Looks like Matijevic and Beer (maybe) are our best hope for a 1B prospect right now. I have heard that Beer is so slow he makes McCann look fast. Definitely drafted for his bat. I have also heard that Alvarez takes bad routes to the ball and has misplayed a few flyballs into doubles.

“ The Manea kid is looking good for Fayetteville. In 2018 Spring Training, JD DAvis had some very good games against the Mets. I suspect they may have been so impressed that they put him on their shortlist of AAA guys to acquire via trade.

It's looking at this point like Alvarez and Tanielu have the hot bats at AAA in case someone needs to be brought up. Nice to have 1 guy who plays the outfield and 1 who plays the infield.
Pitching wise, if James' spring injury is still bothering him, maybe it's time for Brendan McCurry. That guy is nearly unhittable for long stretches at a time. I don't see how he would do worse than James' 7.88 ERA.

I'm probably going to break down this weekend and buy an milb.tv subscription. They're $50 but that allows you to watch all the Express and Hooks games, and a lot of the A-ball games as well.

Taking in last nights game Vlad Jr. is legit, the bomb he hit clearing the stadium was Judge like power. The dude built on the lines of Prince Fielder. Not to mention Biggio's son has a nice stroke. With three of the first four hitter in the line up MLB players son's, the other Dante Bichette, they have a nice line of players in the wings.
