I don't think there's anything wrong with McCullers that 65 degree weather won't solve. And he might have a solution for that if the situation arises again. ie Pitch to his strengths rather than focus on the opponents' weaknesses.

McCullers has always been a guy who gets great movement on his pitches and as such does not always have great control. He does get a lot of strikeouts and for him 5 innings is a very good start and 6 innings is a great start. I can think of no better candidate in the majors today that would be a better candidate for tandem start duty than McCullers. Managers need to manage to their team's strengths and expecting 6 innings from McCullers is a gateway to trouble.
