I don’t get why they don’t force the issue on the bases. How many times do we see them whiff their way into a scoreless inning? A lot. This one run lead won’t hold up. Castro can do things when not arguing with umpires.

McHugh and Peacock are giving it all they can, but we all knew this was a project rotation from the get-go.

I wish Cruz was the Astros DH. They just need some type of hitting and not settle for anything subpar like they’ve been doing this season.

I think we just need to accept the fact that Altuve will always be a pull hitter. That's fine when he is ahead in the count. I just want him to get back to focusing on just making contact when he gets behind in counts rather than trying to yack outside pitches down the left field line. And he needs to work on his bunts up the first base line when they shift on him. He should be able to beat a shift with a bunt 75+% of the time. It’s okay if he’s a pull hitter. I just don’t get why he needs to contort himself to whiff on the down and out pitch. If he’s fouling them, fine, but that’s happening less and less as he’s adapted to being a power hitter. Plus, he stands so far off the plate, and he doesn’t have the longest arms to reach for those pitches. As far as the bunting down the first base line, I think he definitely should against lefties. I’m not sure how successful he can be against righties that fall toward first base on pitches. Pitchers know that Altuve will go after the first pitch 90% of the time and they try to get him out on it. He has not shown that he is capable of figuring this out and adjusting. He is killing many potential big innings; In plain language, he is not very intelligent. As a team. we are terrible at situational hitting and don't produce many runs without hitting a home run and it keeps biting us in the butt.

Peacock is pitching very well for us. He's 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA (119 ERA+) entering today. He's doing exactly what we need.

I wish Cruz was the Astros DH. He is who I wanted. I wonder how hard we tried to sign him. Instead we have a clown like White.

It ain't Altuve's fault that Peacock has given up 6 runs this inning. Sure but Peacock only pitches one out of every five games. If he sucks we're bad for a game. If Altuve continues to suck, we're worse for multiple.

Peacock got hammered badly. Damn you, Altuve! If you think it's acceptable for guys like Altuve and Gurriel to perform as badly as they are lately, I've got no argument for ya. I guess they're playing really well but we're getting shutout with them each .300+ and I just missed it.

But it's ok for a starting pitcher to give up a half dozen runs in an inning because he doesn't play every day? (PS, not the first implosion this season by Peacock)
