If you think it's acceptable for guys like Altuve and Gurriel to perform as badly as they are lately, I've got no argument for ya. I guess they're playing really well but we're getting shutout with them each .300+ and I just missed it. But it's ok for a starting pitcher to give up a half dozen runs in an inning because he doesn't play every day? (PS, not the first implosion this season by Peacock) So one game determines a season. Got it. Hey look, the not-struggling Altuve just hit a leadoff double to get something started. Oh wait, he hit a dinker to 3B and is now 0-3. Again.

Hinch left Peacock in the game to cost us any chance of winning. He has a habit of staying too long with pitchers.

I wonder if Bortaz would be happy if we went ahead and named Altuve the MVP and put him in the Hall of Fame before he retired. If a high IQ was required, he has no chance.

It's a good thing the Astros have the day off tomorrow. Get to Mexico, drink some cervezas, refresh, beat the shit out of the Angels this weekend. Maybe being closer to their homeland will get Altuve and co. back on the right track.
And for the record, I'm not down on Altuve because I don't like him or anything. I'm down on him because expectations are high and the team performs as he performs. I fully expect him to get hot again at some point, but right now he is really really bad. We need more from him and a few of our other big guys.

At the end of the season, Altuve will be rated far above average (probably top 3 at his position). Meanwhile, your grandson Joke will most likely be DFAd due to sucking ass.

Altuve is a great player but not real bright by continuing to refuse to make adjustments at the plate.

Peacock is pitching very well for us. He's 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA (119 ERA+) entering today. He's doing exactly what we need. Wow, way to jinx him.

Enough is enough with the grounders to the 3B. He needs to break out of his funk by trying other things and stop being so stubborn.

People act like the team should give some of these lackluster guys another two or three months to improve. THEY DON’T HAVE TO. This is a major league team. If you’re not important, you can find work elsewhere the way J.D. Martinez did.

And, by the way, Jake is out-hitting Altuve, the guy with a bad case of dumbass.

I will agree with you on Altuve. Enough is enough with the grounders to the 3B. Last season I nicknamed Correa “Take Two” because most at-bats he would take two good, hittable pitches before he would take the bat off his shoulder. I’m thinking maybe “5 to 3” would be a appropriate nickname for Jose right now.

He sometimes gets a hit but many times he strikes out on a pitch out of the zone. I don't understand why Hinch and the coaches haven't gotten him out of this habit. Equally ridiculous is Altuve trying to pull everything and ground balls to third happen all too often. Many times he still swings at the first pitch when Springer has just walked on four pitches. Lack of intelligence on his part.

At Coors one year, he blasted a home run that would’ve usually hit a batter on the hands. I don’t get why he takes those pitches so often. Gurriel frustrates me too because with that long wobbly swing, he will not hit an outside pitch.
