Best play of the year so far for the Astros.

Languish in AAA? Nobody even expected him to make the team this year, making him wait until June to save some club control is not languishing... So, let White dunk more donuts and keep Alvarez down for another month? That seems fair. Again, going in circles.

But...(insert White’s accomplishment). I'll help you, "But... 113 OPS+ before 2019 while making less than $600K a year." That's worth more than 16 starts before dropping him. 🙄

I really like this off season's acquisitions. Chirinos is hitting. Brantly is hitting. Miley is pitching. What more can we ask? stay healthy all of them

But you act as if White is better on defense. As for dimensions, I was referring to slap hitting, bunting, and speed. Plus, he’s clutch. You can’t teach that to White. Kemp is a great guy. But we don't NEED him. We NEED Alvarez. I think we need to consider the possibility that Alvarez may suck when he first gets called up. That's why we shouldn't trade or release anyone. The decent thing would be for Yuli to fake an injury. Take one for the team so to speak to make sure Alvarez is MLB-ready

Don't give away depth pieces when we don't need to. Not when we're in exactly the position we need to be right now.

I thought you used to have more appreciation for value and being positive. Why are you so willing to throw away depth and overhaul a first place team? I’m positive with Kemp. What’s wrong with that? I also don’t want to overhaul the team. I simply stated I’d rather have Kemp than White. We agree on Alvarez but differ on choosing the odd man out.

I also give more slack to high-effort guys like Springer, Reddick, and Kemp. That’s why I down White more often.

Don’t worry. We have to be patient and give him four more months of sucking before we call up Alvarez. Better than Kemp. Get rid of Kemp. OFer for an OFer. Now, I know you are out of your mind. White the DH with ONE run batted in for the season and THREE K'S tonight. White can't hit can't run, and is mediocre on defense at best. He sucks and is just taking up space. He makes Evan Gattis look like Edgar Martinez as DH. White is a lard ass joke.

Kemp has multiple homers along with a walkoff and a few RBI’s, yet he’s the one who can’t hit? This is also with sporadic playing time. And an OPS over 100 points lower... Are you being serious right now? The walkoff was nice, but one good moment doesn't make up for that big of a gap... You and your damn OPS........If you think we need a DH who has driven in ONE run in 38 games you have to be kidding. He is a wasted roster spot........Get rid of his sorry ass and bring up Alvarez.

Wish we could trade Kemp and cut White. Call Whitley up and put one of the starters in the pen. I’m with you. I second that and find a replacement for Stassi.

Here we go Marisnick up with the bases loaded and a chance to put the game away. Will he step up and make Coach proud. Don't pass out but I was calling for Hinch to pinch hit Brantley for Jake before he did it. It was the only sensible move to make. Having Kemp pinch hit for the worthless White would have also been a good move.

Reddick had the catch of the season to go with the clutch RBI to break the tie. Hw saved Osuna's bacon.

I can’t stop watching highlights of Reddick’s catch. Even Dave Raymond had to give him his due. That’s probably the best home run robbery since Springer bailed Sipp out in Arlington.

I did not see the catch until later as I was following the game on gameday and all it said was that he flew out to right field and since the guy did not tag up an score I thought it was just a flyball to short right. When I saw the catch I thought "damn I did not think that he had that much ups in him". Those 3 runs Reddick saved not only saved the game for the Astros but at the end of the year it will mean about a half a run lower era for Osuna as well as one less blown save.

You and your damn OPS........If you think we need a DH who has driven in ONE run in 38 games you have to be kidding. He is a wasted roster spot........Get rid of his sorry ass and bring up Alvarez. You can get an RBI by hitting a wimpy groundball or a pop fly. I don't care about RBIs. Nobody should care about RBIs. Verlander got a loss by giving up one run in 7 innings, does that make him less of a pitcher? No. Certain stats are very situational based and have limited meaning. What I care about are how well somebody gets on base (OBP), how many bases they can get by themselves (SLG or SB percentage), and how well they are at getting hits with men on base and/or RISP. Those percentages matter. Hence, why I like OPS and OPS+ or RC. White gets on base well. White normally has a high SLG. White was a machine with RISP and Men On Base last year. All that being said, he is certainly NOT doing a lot of that so far this year. No argument there. But, I think he has shown enough to warrant a legitimate chance this year before we move on. Just to make sure we're not throwing away another JD Martinez for no reason. Especially when we're winning well anyways and have the time/chance to see if he can work through things. (Same with Kemp, Stassi, and Jake.) Alvarez looks awesome. But so did Fisher, Tucker, etc. who came up here and did absolutely nothing. I don't want to give up on guys who have had success in the past just because they're having a slow start this year in limited playing time. You don't throw away resources unless you absolutely have to. And we don't currently have to.

I’ve watched the catch about 10 times. Maybe that game was an omen for the season. One to remember. Funny how it all worked out with the fans being moved from the first 3 rows because of the rain otherwise I’m not sure the fans wouldn’t have interfered.

Another thing that I watched when reviewing the catch was where the ball was when it hit his glove and how far up his hand he was wearing the glove. I am not sure if he wears it like that all the time but he had maximum extension on that play. Anything less and he does not catch that ball.

That play could be even meaningful than just the game. If he doesn't catch it and we lose, that's the kind of blown game that can have a pretty big negative mental impact on a closer and a bullpen.
