You have no clue as to whether home town high schoolers will sign if drafted........who is your source? I am sure it's top secret. He has sources. And he can never name any of them.

8th round Luis Guerrero A lesser known name that should quickly jump on the scouting scene is strong flamethrower Luis Guerrero (2020, Miami, Fla.). Guerrero lit up the radar gun early and often, sitting 91-93 mph with the fastball in the first while also mixing in great feel for a 76-78 mph curveball. His fastball showed a great deal of life commanding it to both halves of the plate with a great deal of arm-side run, being able to keep it off the plate and back it up to the outside corner on right-handed hitters. The curveball, with slow 12-to-6 break, showed as a plus pitch when used in unison with the hard-running fastball. Guerrero used his strong, stable lower half to change up deliveries and leg lifts to effectively throw off hitter’s timing on his way to four strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings pitched. He will be used as a OFer. Not a Pitcher. He loves batting has a .300+ avg last year.

Round 11 RYAN GUSTO
LOOKING FOR COLLEGE STUFF Ryan Gusto is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Providence High School. Extra-large frame, lean, slender build, broad shoulders, athleticism, and lots of room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.11 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a long arm action, accuracy to the bag, and a crow hop into throws. Showed impressive arm strength up to 87 mph from the outfield. At the plate, a switch hitter who impressed more from the left side. Started with a tall base, open stance, deeper hand load, and a medium hand set. From the left side, showed quickness to hands with good bat speed, and a line drive swing plane. Worked up the middle and pull side with impact off the barrel. From the left side was more of a compact swing with a slower barrel. Also pitched, showed a long arm action, big arm circle, online landing, loads up weight well on backside, and finishes well through the ball. Extended three quarter arm slot with a repeatable delivery, and slight crossfire action. Fastball worked well to both sides with quickness to arm. Fastball showed 79-82/83 mph with good angle and ability to mix pitches. Curveball showed good depth with feel to spin it and burry it low in the zone. Ability to pitch backwards and keep hitters off balance. Named to Top Prospect List.

Round 13 Kevin Holcomb, RHP, Glendale (Calif.) JC Source: JC • Ht: 6-5 • Wt: 210 • B-T: R-R • Commitment/Drafted: Never Drafted
Holcomb emerged as a prospect in the California Collegiate Summer League and helped pitch Glendale (Calif.) JC deep into the state playoffs this spring. A projectable 6-foot-5, 210-pound righthander, Holcomb works 89-93 mph on his fastball and has room to grow into more velocity. His mechanics are a bit stiff but his arm is quick. He also flashes feel for an average slider in the low- to mid-80s.

Round 15 Cole McDonald
CEDAR RAPIDS — He’ll almost surely hear (or see) his name at some point this week. But don’t tell Cole McDonald that.
The University of Iowa pitcher will believe it when he sees it.
The 2019 Major League Baseball Draft is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and McDonald is one of a handful of Hawkeyes who could receive an opportunity to play professionally. The senior from New Hampton is a safe bet to get picked, though he kind of thought the same thing last season, too, and it never happened.
“So, I guess, right now, I’m definitely excited and kind of prepared for it,” McDonald said. “But at the same time, you don’t want to get too amped up and get disappointed. Stay calm a little bit, and, obviously, hope for the best.”
McDonald is a great story in that he hurt his arm as a junior in high school, had Tommy John elbow surgery and didn’t pitch at all as a senior. The right-hander pitched just three times as a junior.
But Iowa believed in him, and he improved each and every season for Coach Rick Heller. He emerged as a Friday starter in Big Ten Conference games this season and went 6-3 with a 3.54 earned run average.
His final college start was the best of his career: eight innings, five hits and a run allowed, with nine strikeouts against Indiana.
“I kind of came in, didn’t pitch my junior or senior year of high school, I’m from a small town,” McDonald said. “Going to the University of Iowa was kind of like a whole new world just opened in front of my eyes. I didn’t know what to expect. I’m sure you could ask any junior or senior, they looked at me and said ‘How could Coach Heller recruit this guy?’ ... But once I showed up, I just tried to work as hard as I possibly could.”
McDonald said he gained 20 pounds between last season and this season and it helped him gain more durability and velocity. His fastball jumped from the 86 to 88-mile-per-hour range to 88-to-92.
That will get you a shot at pro ball.
“Hearing a lot of things from scouts, more than last year, so I’m pretty confident that my name will be called,” McDonald said. “It’s definitely a better feeling compared to last year.”
Other Iowa players with a chance at getting drafted include pitchers Grant Leonard, Grant Judkins and Kyle Shimp, catcher Austin Martin and outfielder Ben Norman.
Among local and area preps, Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Harrison Cook seems to have the best chance to get picked.

Round 18 Justin Campbell. Simi Valley HS It’s likely that Simi Valley pitcher Justin Campbell will spend an entire season without varsity action. That’s not surprising for a freshman pitcher, but Campbell is anything but a traditional first year high school athlete.
Standing 6-foot-7, Campbell already has MLB height, and he’s quickly developing MLB size. While he isn’t facing off against varsity high school competition yet, the batters he is matching up with right now don’t have a chance.
As noted by the Los Angeles Times, Campbell is 2-0 while pitching for the Simi Valley junior varsity team. More impressively, he has racked up 19 strikeouts across just 11 innings, a rate of nearly two strikeouts per frame. Campbell has already competed for USA Baseball’s 12U and 15U squads, and is clearly on a rapid trajectory toward high school stardom.
