Ugh, no compensation pick for Keuchel. He and Kimbrell will probably be signed soon............Picking #32 is not going to get us a front-line player.

You never know. I have seen plenty of great stars that were not picked in the first round.

I think Jeff will do what Jeff normally does and have a solid draft.

Ugh, no compensation pick for Keuchel. If he were worth it, teams would’ve easily signed and forked over a measly draft pick for him, but he had to be Mr. Pricey.

You draft for if the SOB can play and wants to play

You draft bpa hands down. Yeah, but you can focus a little on positions too. For example, if you have multiple guys that you rank similarly in potential/skills (or whatever), you can/should go with the position you have more need of, I would think. But I trust the FO to know what is best for this team. Outside of a couple missteps, they've done a fantastic job with drafts.

I just dont wanna have a waste pick. If you didnt call that guy and for a fact know he would sign then BPA wont matter. You need to get the guy who helps your minors and will essentially help your MLB club. Thats me. Thats the thing with Draft Picks, its like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get.

Are any of you from the South? Jesus christ. If you dont know what SOB stands for then you must be ignorant or just bored in life and just wanna pick and poke to make fun of people. Be an adult for once. Get over the antics of making fun of people. Im not going any where and really dont care if you dont believe me or not. I breath baseball. I watch every outlet I can and its my second favorite sport. Football is and always will be number 1. With Hockey number 3. Basketball sucks

Korey Lee School: California Year: Junior Position: CAge: 20 DOB: 7/25/1998 Bats: R Throws: RHeight: 6'1" Weight: 205 lb. Previously drafted: Never

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 55 | Run: 30 | Arm: 60 | Field: 45 | Overall: 45
Having a sure-fire top of the first round teammate has helped Lee in two ways this spring. There's been some benefit from hitting behind 2018 Golden Spikes Award winner Andrew Vaughn and he's certainly been seen a lot as a result. To his credit, he's taken advantage of the situation to take a large step forward, particularly offensively, as the Draft approached.
Lee shows a lot of power, both with his bat and with his arm. He has plus raw power and the improvements he's shown as an overall hitter make some feel it might eventually play as plus in games in the future. Coming into the spring, he was thought to be a below-average hitter, but there is more confidence it will continue to play better than that. There is some swing and miss, but nothing concerning, and he's shown an improved ability to handle quality arms this spring. While he's an easily below-average runner, he's more athletic than you'd think, runs decently and can even handle playing a corner infield spot. His arm strength shows closer to 70 at times and he's gotten better with his overall receiving.
There is a dearth of catching in this class, and college backstops always fly off the board relatively early. Lee was playing his way into the top-three-round consideration, with some seeing a Mike Napoli-like career path in his future.

I hope we look at good young catchers... Astros picked a catcher, Korey Lee, with their first pick. Here's a little scouting blurp from a Braves fan forum...... "Korey Lee, C, California (Cal) - Teammate to Andrew Vaughn, and has been hitting cleanup most of the season. Lee has also been in the mix as their second best hitter too. On the season he’s hitting .325 with 11 HR. The negatives are that he does have swing and miss to his game. On the defensive side, Lee has thrown out 50% of runners, but has five errors and five passed balls." I looked it up, and the Cal Bears played 52 games this season. I am not sure about the quality of PAC 10 pitching, but his bat may not be too shoddy. OTOH.... 5 E's and 5 pb's in about 50 games? Ouch.

I wouldnt worry about him. Word is they were following him for awhile. They think he will be just fine behind the dish His bat is the key and his arm is a 70 to 65 depending on who you talk to
One of the highest in the past couple years of the draft

Its a need Lunhow said it himself. Talk of the town is all the Hometown High schoolers will not aign if drafted. Think the Astros will draft another Catcher.
