In fairness, Jake is the only one on the team whose ineffectiveness at the plate isn’t discussed by the local media. You hear it about Kemp, White, or even Altuve, but Jake can have a goose egg and all you hear is about some catch he made earlier. I agree. It is probably because Jake is on the team for his defense and any hitting he does is icing on the cake. White and Kemp are mediocre defenders. Altuve is the biggest star on the team and when he isn't hitting. it makes news. Hopefullyk he will be back soon and hitting like his old self. So, if a close game is on the line with the bases loaded with Jake at the plate, and he K’s on three pitches, would you stand up and cheer his effort or be upset? |
