And when guys like Whitely, JB, and Tucker become AS's for other teams, you'll be the first to blame Luhnow for that. Because.... this was a seller's market. We would have to have parted with top prosepects for the big names. You gotta be more patient. I know you are upset, but we got to be looking out for the bigger picture here. I repeat.......you dont' win a WS with 'prospects'. We have a great shot NOW........go for it. We don't know if any of these prospects ever lives up to their potential. In the meantime. we blew our chance while we had Verlander and Cole. It's ironic that the GM you loath for "wasting" Verlander and Cole is the one who acquired both Verlander and Cole.
Your an ALL IN kind of guy who's playing like we're a small market team. We're NOT!

No way in hell we shoud have done that. I'm with Luhnow. Yea and the Astros offered everything but him and Whitley and they baulked Right .. but you said they were OK with Marisnick, and the deal was done. That's what everyone's reminding you of

If the Yankees don't get anybody either. I'll consider this a solid trade deadline.

This is possibly the weakest trade deadline EVER. Blame has to go to the July 31st cutoff

He could have gotten us some help without losing Tucker and maybe Whitley......he should have let go of Armenteros, Valdez or any other prospect to nail down a solid pitcher.

How long after the deadline before all the deals are known? It could take an hour or so for all the ink to dry.

That is precisely why I say Luhnow did not do his job which is to improve the team and give it the best chance to win the WS........he didn't do it.

This weak trading is a direct result of teams finally realizing the value of young players. It's not about trading for big names. It's about trading for value while limiting how much of your youthful talent you give up.
