Every player goes with their own tune, that is my observation, I don't see him changing his game. Just like watching Craig swinging over sliders down and away his whole career. Altuve is just going to do what Hinch allows him to do. I don’t blame him to be honest. MVP and hitting champ players aren't going to be coached too much by the manager.

outside of taking him out early when there's a sizeable lead, I don't think Hinch manages Altuve. He gets the green light on everything

Pete Alonso is about to become the second rookie in three seasons to hit 50 home runs. Before him and Judge, McGwire had the rookie record of 49 back in 1987. Seems fishy.

As everyone has said, only Manfred is convinced they aren't juicy. Baseball is panicking with sagging attendance. This is a last ditch effort by MLB to turn this game into a Dave and Buster arcade classic, to get more fan interest. Problem is, it is pissing off us purist.

That is the kind of thing that keeps the Real Non-Die Hard fan interested in Baseball once that team is out of the Race. Thus bringing in Revenue.

Then they need to make it so that a middle-class family can go to a game and get good seats without having to take out a second mortgage.

This cycle is a vicious circle of owners trying to cover player salary with exorbarant ticket prices. Back in our youth 90% of the baseball crowd were families enjoying our national past time. Nowadays, that number is probably near 40%, with balance of tickets being used as corporate perks. The game has become unaffordable for many americans. And that is a crying shame. The cycle spiral is complete when young americans lose interest in the game, because they didn't get a good exposure to the game early . I also blame PPV TV for this problem too. Never has there been a Goose and the Golden Egg parable more true than what is happening to MLB at this moment.

It's possible to ride a good horse to death and between governmental largesse and corporate gouging the middle class will collapse at some point. Which, strangely enough, seems to be the plan of some in our government.

Unfortunately, the good teams are still getting good attendance so they can still charge people for that stuff. The problem is the disparity amongst the teams. The teams tanking aren't bringing in fans.

Sometimes Altuve's exuberance leads to bad decisions. But with his body of work and accomplishments, who can really say that much ill about it. Some people cannot see a elite player when it hits them in the face.

Will have congressional hearings over juiced balls? ? ”I’m not here to talk about the past.” Maybe they could consult with Correa about "juiced balls".

Re: Juiced balls Very interesting article today in which (if you read between the lines) is an admission from Manfred that something has altered the baseaball and / or something will be done to adjust to normal. I'll let you read and draw your own conclusions.... Here is my favorite article quote from the weasel... "The only thing I'm prepared to say at this point and time is I do think that we need to see if we can make some changes that gives us a more predictable, consistent performance from the baseball," he said. How much more of an admission of manipulation ability by MLB is that? Manfred considering changes to baseball as HR surge continues

And if I may further rant against the POS Manfred and his predecessor selig.
Baseball is a sport where the record book is hollowed ground. Numbers like 4191, 56, 61*, .406 are permanently ingrained into the true fan. These numbers and records are sacred. When you get the recent COB trash that has pissed on these institutions, it just makes you want to lock these mf'ers up. Manipulating the game should be grounds for full dismissal. Plus as far as Sellig, I wish there was some way or means to revoke his HOF plague. That son of a bitch has done more damage to baseball than any 5 other people combined.
Players were banned trying to enhance their numbers for their benefit. Has Manafred done the same to improve baseball attendance? Ban him.......NOW!
