the last 6 pitches have all been strikes and Fisher does squat with them. Fisher and Marisnick down and Davis and White back up. Get're done I’m good with that.

I'm sure Cole could probably throw the CG but AJ probably wants to get Sipp and Giles into a game. Poor old Collin McHugh has gone 7 days without pitching and looks like he wont' have a shot tonight. [br The wild card in the rotation is Lance, he will have to stay healthy plus being consistent, good to have Colin for insurance.

the Mariners are doing a good job of playing dead. Put a fork in this one.

That's Smith's 4th clean appearance (no hits, no walks) out of 7 times on the mound this year. He needed that.

That's awesome that happened in the middle of a breakout inning If Gattis gets it going with Marwin that will be great. + Yuli = Killer Gs

But it's more likely to happen in the second half of the season. Sometimes I just worry about pitchers getting rusty if they don't face hitters in a game situation for a while. I suppose McHugh might be throwing a simulated inning with live hitters here and there to stay sharp.

they made that guy throw 24 pitches and only had Altuves single to show for it. Good plate management tonight

But if you remember last season, they had a nightmare trip into Chicago.

this just does not make sense to me. why put McHugh in for garbage time when you have Morton going tomorrow and though you can expect a quality start you can not expect more than 5-6 innings. use Colin tomorrow and let him stretch it out.

When you think about it Colin has had some of his best starts against the Mariners.

Colin so far has shown one thing, he can come out of the pen with the breaking ball clicking.

I was surprised they didn't bring in Sipp with the 6-run lead. Maybe the rationale for using McHugh was that he hadn't pitched in a week and they were afraid Morton might go so deep in tomorrow's game that McHugh doesn't get a chance. It's a lovely predicament to have.
