Thought I would add a thread just for former Astro news.
Fisher- doing well White and Stassi barely playing and bad Keuchel today and lately- not good Morton- very good and staying healthy
Kemp- like a one-legged prostitute.. doable
And this is just this years subtractions

Blue Jays DFA David Paulino Strange as he's actually done well for them. His AAA #s were good this year to and still has control through 2025, but I guess his recent injury made them think twice for whatever reason

Former Astros left handed reliever Tony Sipp has cleared waivers and is now a free agent.

So Luhnow has done such an excellent job making awesome trades without giving up Tucker and Whitley. When does everyone think we see one or the other on the MLB roster?

Tucker in September, Whitley in June next year I'd have to see sustained success with innings wo injury before I'd even think about calling him up. I'm thinking next September before Whitley will be called up barring a rash of injuries.

Also, interesting news I guess. Felipe Paulino (p) is back with the Astros this season- last time was 2010)
5.40 ERA in 14 games with AAA Round Rock but he made his way back from Independent league purgatory.

I hated when Ruiz was traded for Gattis. I really thought he was going to turn into a superstar 3B. Little did I know Bregman was the guy and Ruiz would bounce around. Shows what I know about player evaluation.

Angels scored 12 runs today on 11 hits. Do you know who DIDN'T get a hit?
Stassi is now 0-12 with the Angels with 6 Ks.
Angels are 0-5 and have given up 40 runs in the 5 games in which Stassi has started. I'm starting to feel sorry for the dude a bit. Not sure what happened as last year he was at least respectible.

White is now 1 for 21 with the Dodgers in 11 games. but he does have 2 RBIs with 4 BBS and only 4 Ks so at least he's hitting the ball a bit. But 0 for last 17 ABs
------------------------
Tony Kemp is a nice 5 for 18 in 8 games with a run, a double and an RBI. .304 OB% Best of the lot so far.
------------------------
Fisher has shown some signs with the 3 HRs and 4 RBIs but still only 4 for 21 .190 avg.
Does have 4 Runs scored and 2 BBs but 9 Ks.
***********************************
On the flip side. Astros players picked up at the deadline are:(pitching)
Combined: 3-0, 20 Innings, 15 Hits, 7 ERs, 16 Ks, 3.15 ERA
With Sanchez going 2 games 2-0, 11 Innings, 3 Hits, 1 ER, 12 Ks 0.82 ERA

Octavio Dotel, Luis Castillo -- ex-MLB stars -- arrested in Dominican Republic drug trafficking case: reportslink Bet they spent their MLB money like water, and turned to crime to maintain their lavish lifestyle. In any case sounds like the term "Low and inside" is going take on a whole new meaning pretty shortly for these guys.

First, the Marlins had that alleged murderer Urbina. Add Castillo to that criminal mix.

All the MLB guys we traded or released this year are actually doing even worse than they did with us. Like, way way worse.
Keuchel bounced back from that awful start is back up to a 111 ERA+. On the surface that looks pretty good for a starter, but his strikeout, walk, and hits rate are all unimpressive. There are plenty of teams that would love to have a starter with a 111 ERA+ this offseason, but not if he continues to look for unreasonable contracts... We'll see if he has learned his lesson.
Morton continues to be a top-3 starter in the AL. He's going to get plenty of CY consideration. He's also 11 innings away from the most ever in a season for him.

We made a major blunder by not keeping Morton. I said it at the time and I've been proven right.

It should be Morton v Verlander early next week if the rotations maintain
