3 outs away from a 7.5 game lead and a fun flight home. Not too bad considering. I 'm sorry to piss on this party, but losing 3 of 4 to our closest competitors under these circumstances is a kick in the nuts. We had the sword ready to gut this sucker, and we failed. 7.5 game lead with only 6 weeks left? I'll take that every year. Sure it could always be better, but that's a real good place to be in.

Everyone also note. Our supposed 2 best releivers failed to nail down a 1-2-3 inning. Strom back with the team yet? When was the last 1-2-3 inning in relief when it was needed to stop the bleeding.

Great job by Greinke and the pen with clutch hitting by Bregman and Gurriel. Defense was excellent. Good ending to a terrible road trip. I totally agree with txheat......We had the chance to put the division title on ice nd we failed due to playing uninspired baseball with mostly poor pitching and failure to get the big hit.

Even when we end a losing streak y'all are negative. Yikes.

So long as they make the playoffs and win the whole thing that's the only thing that matters to me. Whether it be 97, 100, 105, 110 total wins, I don't care. WS Rings or Bust.

I feel we have the rotation and hitters to win the WS....I am a big Pressly fan...and then having Osuna a great way to finish the game....So Astros have a month and half to see which other bullpen arms can be relied upon.

A healthy Peacock will be valuable in the pen. I also wonder about Josh James and bis health status. I have not heard him mentioned in awhile. I don't trust Devenski or Rondon. Sanchez would go to the pen for the post season and he will help.

Didn't see this James post....I asked the same about him this morning on Season Chatter thread....JJ has the stuff to be a difference makers....it would be a huge boost to the pen if he can comeback and pitch to his ability....a crafty Peacock would be a big plus as well... Then hope you find luck and not misfortune out of: McHugh (long inning relief or bust) Devo (has good stuff but not good execution) Harris (scares me despite his good stats) Smith (really don't know much about him) Biagini (same) Ohhh, and on Rondon, NFW.

Isn't Biagini in the minors? Biagini was sent down last week. If James is healthy, we should send Devenski to RR since he has options. He is of no use to us unless it's to mop up in a blowout. He can't be counted on in a close game and neither can Rondon. Replacing those two with Peacock and James makes our pen much better.

You would be surprised at how often I refrain from posting what is on my mind, especially the last few days. James, Peacock, and Sanchez should play vital roles in the post season. I have ZERO confidence in Devenski or Rondon and very little in Smtjh.

Because our bullpen was even worse than it is now in 2017 when we won the WS by using our starters as relievers. Luhnow tried to plug the hole with successful veterans. And even though they haven't been amazing, they've certainly been solid, albeit a little expensive and not as good as we wanted.

Good ole Lance. Dang that run was fun.
