LMAO..... Dombrowski out as President of Baseball Operations after winning WS 11 months earlier. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/dave-dombrowski-out-as-red-sox-president-of-baseball-operations/ar-AAH0T6CNot that the guy made a boat load of shitty decisons that effected the LT financial health of the team. Like. I said on an earlier thread, Baseball GM's are 2 bad decisons away in this era of costing their team a half billion dollars, and years of competitvness. All for a job that pays 1/10 of what your best employee makes. Bizarro world isn't it?

Talk about a meltdown, at least after the two Marlin WS winnings, they ripped the team apart. In the Red Sox case, they kept the players and gave away the Brink's truck. Not even keeping the buzzard would have helped their situation.

But I for one have thought that the BoSox of the past 5 years or so were never as good as they played, which was way over their head. Smoke and mirrors only works for so long.

Quite a few bad contracts, now he is paying the price of the lynching. Just think what a move to pass on Eovaldi.

After getting shut out by the Yanks, the Red Sox were eliminated from the AL East race. Their dwindling hopes lie in the Wild Card.

The Red Sox are a perfect example of how you have to have pitching.

The Red Sox are a perfect example of how you have to have pitching. That’s part of what made 2018 suck. There wasn’t a better starting rotation in baseball.

Breaking news: The Boston Red Sox will not be meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House following the World Series this year.

Price and Sale is our equivalent of Cole and Verlander. If we lost those two we would be screwed. Price is never healthy and getting old. Sale.....Sucks he got hurt.

As mentioned in this thread everything that could have went right for the Red Sox did last season. There are nightmare's on how many times they came through with runners in scoring position with two outs and some cases with two strikes, also take into consideration of the plays they made and the umpires calls. I can still see JV not getting the call on the two strike pitch and the next one JD goes yard. Then which might put the icing on was the contracts they gave in the off season. But listening to the network today talking about the Sox they do not see it as doom and gloom for the future.

Dombrowski needs an owner who loves to raise payroll cause his M.O. is splashy free-agent signings. The new environment is trending away from that The Tigers had to deal with some hefty contracts he made after he left their GM position a while back

You are right, he is old school spending the big buck to win. A team that would probably meet his criteria would be the Mets. Most likely the late season run might have saved their new GM Van Wagenen.
