I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand, you like to see guys be tough and play through the pain, etc. But as somebody who did that in high school into college, only to completely ruin my shoulder forever and end any chances of anything further, I also see the importance in being prudent. I'd rather have him perform this offseason rather than risk worse injury, us win another WS, and then trade him in the offseason while his stock is high. It looks like the offseason may be the only time he does perform.

GDP's will stay elevated as long as we refuse to use the hit and runk, bunt, or steal. Plus, we have guys who hit weak ground balls trying to pull every pitch. Our pinch hitting is terrible because we don't normally have a decent bitter on the bench to use since we think we need 13 pitchers. It's hard to complain too much when we're also 4th in Runs Scored, 1st in OBP, and 2nd in Hits. You get a lot of guys on base and don't strike out much and you're going to hit into some double plays. But, I don't think any of us want to go back to the days of Chris Carter and a billion strikeouts. Since we have guys up and down the lineup that can drive in runs, it's hard to run into a possible out. I understand the strategy there and also injuries are a concern when trying to steal. But I would like to see guys like Straw try it more often as that's why we have him.

Threw out a runner trying to steal, Stole a base himself, Had two outfield assists, had an unassisted triple play and threw 2 scoreless innings with 5 ks.
Now the new dilemma is where do we play him?

I was surprised to see Pujols in a Ray uniform. I was even more surprised when Lidge came in and struck him out.

Something to ponder as we wait for tomorrow’s game.....Why did both Abraham Toro-Hernandez and Jose Hernandez-Urquidy drop the Hernandez from their name? Also.., is it just a coincidence that both of them got called up after they deleted any reference to Hernandez from their name or is their something more sinister going on? Most importantly... was Daniella involved in any of this in any way?

Do you think we will sit Bregman, Alvarez, Brantley and Altuve? Nope, but Morton is nasty, so I don't expect a high scoring game.

She said she had to bring him out of his shell so maybe she needs those two to step in while Carlos works on his back problems.

Have you seen the upcoming Rivian truck and suv...I might put a deposit on the SUV....my wife has a Sequoia...and this Rivian blows it away....0-60 in 3 seconds, 754 HP...400 mile range... Plus $7.5k tax credit....if the battery last 7 years, it's a no brainer.
