And stabbed his catcher after hitting his manager in the head with a bat. Have you seen the upcoming Rivian truck and suv...I might put a deposit on the SUV....my wife has a Sequoia...and this Rivian blows it away....0-60 in 3 seconds, 754 HP...400 mile range... Plus $7.5k tax credit....if the battery last 7 years, it's a no brainer. OTOH, I for one am not thrilled that my tax dollars help subsidizes those so called eco-friendly friendly vehicles which are not really eco-friendly. Joe Q public must think that unicorns on tradmills generate that electricity that charges that battery.

Another thing on the steals, it's a shame Correa doesn't run more. He has a career 80% success rate. I guess it brings the injury risk down if he isn't running/sliding more.... If he ran more, he'd probably get caught more and reduce his rate to under 75%.

A perpetual motion machine has always been a con. But it's one reason Tesla is so popular. His perpetual motion machine was couched in jargon most do not understand and people willingly believed the scam because he was so smart. That's the playbook for man caused climate change. It's a total misunderstanding of the quantitative effects of man vs the qualitative speculations if there was no difference. My favorite way of saying it is,"If you spit in the ocean, qualitative evaluation says the sea levels rose. Quantitative evaluation says it is irrelevant to the natural forces at work due to scale.
And I don't expect DT to know this, but I do expect him to learn quickly when advised by those who do. (ie Nuking a hurricane) We think Nuke and we think big. But the forces of nature and nature's God are far greater.
ps I apologize for my mind making weird connections from baseball to quantum theory this morning.

If they’re not going to steal, can they at least let loose the reins on Straw? Just have him go every time he’s at first or second base (or even third). Forget about the caught stealing possibility. I’d like him to scare the crap out of pitchers and disrupt their game.

So we start this game .5 games back of NY for the AL lead, and 9 games ahead of OAK for the division. If we hold to our current winning percentage, we're on pace for 104 wins. OAK would have to go 29-3 to match us at that record.
This series could quite possibly determine who the CY winner is in the AL. Mike Minor is having a great season for the Rangers and will get some votes, but he just doesn't have the WHIP or SO numbers to match up with Verlander, Cole, and Morton. Not to mention his team is far out of any type of postseason contention. Giolito will get some votes, and Domingo German probably will as well even though he shouldn't.
Cole and Verlander are so neck and neck, it's incredible, but Morton has stayed right there with them and he's basically carrying an entire pitching staff on his back.
That being said, as much as I like Morton, I hope we beat the piss out of him. Over his last 13 starts he's only 7-6 with a 3.62 ERA and has seen his ERA climb from 2.10 to 2.85. He's also approaching more innings pitched than he ever has in a season. They need to make him throw a lot of pitches early, in my opinion. No first pitch swinging. See if you can get him off his game and lose his control some.

Due to so many base-running blunders, Altuve should NEVER have the green light until he proves he can use better judgment. Straw should have the green light until he proves he can't handle it.

In trying to find a position, Alvarez played all 9 today.
Threw out a runner trying to steal, Stole a base himself, Had two outfield assists, had an unassisted triple play and threw 2 scoreless innings with 5 ks.
Now the new dilemma is where do we play him?
I was surprised to see Pujols in a Ray uniform. I was even more surprised when Lidge came in and struck him out. I was surprised to hear Dave Raymond call the game on radio. Since he's with the Rangers now

Astros will score 3 within the first 4 innings JV allows 2 solo home runs. Astros score late and win 3-2. Verlander and Morton get a no decision.
