Miley needs to have a good start. His last two were so uncharacteristic of him that we might think he has an injury. I don't think it's anything that a fair strike zone won't solve. He paints the edges and if he doesn't get the calls or the swings, he can't put the opponents away. It's a similar problem to Keuchel. He has the additional problem of late breaking pitches that end up about 5 inches away from where they appear to be going. Some Umpires are better at seeing the late break than others. The last couple of games, the umps squeezed him and couldn't see the late breaks. I'd love to see a game summary of the missed pitches by those umps. |

There is either something physically wrong with Miley or he is tipping pitches. No pitcher goes from being as effective as he was to being as bad as he is now. Something is wrong with him.
