Jake is slower than he thinks he is. That’s why it’s always a coin flip whenever he tries to steal a base. Like I said last night, 10 year old little leaguers are taught and given the game savy to know you play station to station baseball when down substantially in the score. No exceptions. I am sincere when I state that that stunt has earned Marsinick a demotion. I felt his contributions to the team were overrated anyway. Sure, he’s got some pop and can field, but he can’t hit for average, bunt, or steal.

He's worthless. Let a ball fall behind him in the game last night. Some "best CFer in baseball" we had out there.

The one career highlight of Jake is him throwing out Ellsbury at the plate in the ninth inning at Yankee Stadium to preserve a Stros victory.

I was trying to find the video of Kerfeld making the behind the back come backer catch to the mound, but couldn't find it, in the 1986 playoffs against the Mets.

I’m convinced that we don’t have base coaches. Down 14 runs, 99.9% of players know to play station to station ball in this scenario. Joke Marsinink joins Giles (and his face punching antics), plus Gattis and in his infamous "Grounded into Triple Play" F. Up into the Astros Bonehead HOF. HOW DO YOU GET THROWN OUT DOWN 14 RUNS?!?!?!?!? Since we were down 14 runs,l fail to see what the uproar is all about. It happened in a game that had been over since the first inning. Now, if Jake had done it in a game we still had a chance of winning, I woild agree. It will take a lot for any player to equal or top the stupid things Altuve does on a regular basis, especially with his at bats where he is either too stubborn or too stupid to know when to take a pitch. Odd that those of you who jumped all over this stunt by Jake always overlook the crap our little hustling dumbass, Altuve, does.

So what lead would you say would have made it winnable game ? 2, 4, 6, 10? I have seen some pretty miraculous comebacks before. Deal is, we were in rally mode at the time, and there was absolutlely no reason not to play station to station ball. Bottom line is Bonehead Jake f'ed up.

What was the point of that idiocy? I for one have also criticized other players’ baserunning, including that of Altuve.

The defense of Jake is not a surprise. The reasoning behind the defense still is. After all this time? And for all time.

Whether the game is winnable is determined by the score and the inning. If we are within 4 in the last couple of innings, it's winnable. We were never in this game after the first inning. Jake made a mental mistake no doubt. But, it had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game. I have seen Altuve bunt in the 9th inning with two outs and the Astros needing two runs to tie......now that is what I call f'ing up. He ended the game and killed a chance we had to win with that stupid move which is typical of him. He is a good player.....but a pure dumbass.

And, you defend Altuve for bonehead moves worse than what Jake did.....moves that cost us games. What Jake did had no effect on a game we lost in the first inning. Your bias in favor of Altuve is obvious. He is a star so you ignore his blunders which are many more than any other player on the team.

My point is at the time it occurred it had no effect on the outcome of the game.

Absolutely not, I posted just this week that his overall value this year has been hurt by his below-average baserunning. I'm with you on being aggressive. I don't mind seeing a mistake when guys are trying to be aggressive and make things happen. But defending what you consider to be a bad move by saying it's okay because somebody else made a bad move, doesn't make sense. That would be like Trump cheating on his wife and saying it's okay because Clinton did too. Neither is right; both are wrong.

His blunder wouldn't have made a difference.
