Stassi hit for an OPS of .856 at Fresno last year. He's actually doing better than that in the majors. Very rare to find someone who hits better in the majors than they did in the minors. Stassi may well not keep up this pace, but he's surprised on so many levels, who knows -- he might actually get even better. You have to admire his tenacity. Last year would of broke most folks but he stuck to it and now appears to have launched himself into the long term discussion. |

We're currently 3rd in all of baseball in winning percentage, and we're first (by a wide margin) in run differential.

The test to see if our improvement over the last week is legit will be Cleveland at home. We've struggled at home and Cleveland has some good starters even though their team overall record stinks. |

Another good barometer of how competitive the Astros really are will come in the NYY series. I expect them to play better this time than they did in the recent 4-game series.
Having Kemp is already an improvement over Jake; and if White could come up by then, the offense would be even stronger.
Half of the bullpen (4 relievers) have pitched only 1 inning in the last week and their workload isn't going to get any bigger considering that 2 of the coming 7 days are off days. White can easily be slotted into the roster by putting a reliever on the DL with 'shoulder discomfort'.
Come to think of it, I think I had some back discomfort today. Do you think I could get a paid 10 days off for telling my boss about that?

We have given up an average of only 2.3 runs per game in May yet have 7 losses in 15 games. That is a weird stat. I really think the rest of the league is scared by that stat know all it will take is our offense to catch on fire for about 2-4 weeks straight to put it all away (not only our division but the top seed in the AL) |
