It will soon be crunch time. How far will we go?
Don't forget to comment with your reasons.
Mine? Yes expectations are high. But this is one of the best MLB baseball teams ever assembled. Luhow assembled the Three Headed Ace Machine for a Reason.
WS win!!!!!!!!

I think we win it all....I do think the deciding factors will be in the bullpen...Can Harris be like he was in the regular season...Is Pressly back to pre-injury form...Can Osuna avoid throwing a very hittable pitch, up 0-2 in the count...
To lesser extents, can Carlos play and way lesser, will AJ let Straw steal bases

I'm feeling pessimistic about our bullpen holding up against the offense of the Yankees. I hope I'm wrong though.

I think we win the WS. We are in much better shape in the bullpen than we were in 2017 and we have the best 1-3 starters in baseball. My only concern with the pitching staff is that we don’t really have a guy who throws the wicked curve like Morton and McCullers did in 2017. Those guys made the swing-for-the-fences batters on the NYY and LAD look really bad.
I anticipate that AJ will be more aggressive in the running game in the playoffs and will allow Straw to steal bases.

Win it all, assuming no one important gets hurt. And hopefully Carla comes back from her broken fingernail and can do some damage with the bat...or at least play a solid SS.

I'm feeling pessimistic about our bullpen holding up against the offense of the Yankees. I hope I'm wrong though. Honestly I’m more concerned with getting past the A’s or Rays than I am the Yankees.

I was originally pessimistic about facing either of them, but they both looked more down to Earth the last couple weeks. Plus, we've seen how well this team has stepped up in the ALDS the last couple years. It's been basically a wipeout. I think the real series this whole postseason will be the ALCS.

I think we go all the way and win it all...As for Carla, I ain't expecing anything out of her, I'll be surprised if she doesn't go on her period and miss most of the games. If Carla mans up and does as she is capable, it will be a big boost, but, we have gotten this far without much help from her so we can win the WS without her, too.

Every potential opponent concerns me. Up until '17 to be an Astros fan was to know gut-wrenching defeat in the most implausible ways. I'm hoping that the title exorcised those demons.

In '17, I made a post on the Astros board right before the first playoff game saying how I expected them to go all the way as I believed that team had the best shot of winning it all. I didn't have that warm, fuzzy feeling last year. This year I believe they can do it again, but every potential opponent concerns me this go round.

My biggest worry is that they start believing their press, and complacency sets in. You are right.... There are no soft touches in the AL. Every team has won >100, or almost a 100.

My biggest worry is that they start believing their press, and complacency sets in. You are right.... There are no soft touches in the AL. Every team has won >100, or almost a 100. Our 4th starter will be our x factor in the series. Luckily he'll most likely only have to play once every round.
Winning that game means in a best of 7 series the other team will have to beat Verlander, Cole and Greinke 4 out of 6 times. Can that happen? Sure. Will it? Hell no!
In the best of 5 series they would have to beat them 3 out of 4 times. Even worse odds.
Regardless, the other team will have to at least split the games against our big 3 in order to even have a chance to win the series. For that to happen the Astros bats will have to go cold for a few games losing 3-1 and maybe even 4-2. If that's the case then the other team earned it.

No no, I didn't see a problem getting to the postseason. I think we're as good as we can possibly be and the team did everything it needed to put itself in the best position. But the best team doesn't necessarily win it all, and there is a whole lot of cockiness going on.

Yes. But mostly because I feel like everything is going too well and I'm worried we're like that 116 Win Seattle team. What I’m worried about are those close game situations where a base hit is all you need. The offense likes to go into hero ball/launch angle mode and plays right into defenses.

If they do what they usually do, they'll only use 3 starters in the 5-game ALDS. Miley's slot in the rotation only becomes an issue if we advance (or, lord jesus, one of the 3 aces gets hurt)

I just hope they don't feel they owe Miley a roster spot.
