Surprising guys like Girardi and David Ross were happy to get out of the game to be with their family, have second thoughts. I guess the bug never leaves the game. Retiring and being with your wife up to 24 hours a day is a lot different than working and being with them 12. We adjusted well, but we know several other retirees where it didn't go so smoothly. You got that right. When my dad retired my mom called me after a couple of months begging me to "...take him golfing, fishing, something. Just get him out of the house. I've had my routine for 40 years and he's messing it up." |

Nah, the only annoying thing she does is freak out if rain gets on her or our daughter's head. She was raised to believe that they would get sick from any rain. I was raised the same way. My mom would make us take a shower immediately after getting rained on while walking home from school. She believed the warm water would keep us from getting sick. I have to admit, I never got sick when I showered. I never got sick either and usually I had to complete a long shift before I could take a shower. I considered it along with the 5 second rule as enhancing my immune system. |
