They have embrassed the Astros tonight. This wasn't even a close game at all.

At least when I played soft ball they had a mercy rule.
This team has given up.

Well one look on the bright side. The way this team is playing we won't have any Osuna save opportunities and have to get in the mud with the SJW pukes.

We are about to be swept by a team that won the wild card game because the Brewers right fielder over ran a ball. They are lucky to even have been in the NLDS and are about to win the WS.

And Devo comes in and gives up a home run. Hinch should not have put this piece of shit on the roster instead of Straw.

This team has a leadership issue and a fundamental flaw in its hitting approach. The Nationals have absolutely owned us on hitting. Sure, they occasionally homer, but they use the whole field and can beat shifts. All our team does is lean on shifts and home runs. It’s a very basic and limited approach that assumes baseball can completely be mastered by spreadsheets.

WS standing:
Fundamental baseball approach: 2 wins 0 losses Slow pitch softball approach supplemented by poor base running: 0 wins 2 losses

Maybe the embarrassing defeat will put a jolt in them.
Right now the Nationals are just executing way better. They got hot at the right time and are doing everything right. We only have one consistent offensive performer and our pitching is no longer living up to the hype. Still time to turn it around though.

Maybe the embarrassing defeat will put a jolt in them. Maybe. But winning 4 of 5, with 3 on the road against a red hot team? 5% chance at best. FanGraph's 35% probability is absurd

How many really think this series is coming back to Houston right now. It will be back. I believe! Our guys are being beat down by a team playing good, smart, fundamental baseball. Our guys are going to have to play good, smart, FUNDAMENTAL baseball to bring the series back to Houston. I don’t see our team changing their approach to the game at this point.

FanGraph's 35% probability is absurd Well we've got a National league pitcher going for us tomorrow, and losing the DH will cool off their offense a little. (Our offense was already cold so it won't affect much.) Hell, a 4-game winning streak was fairly regular for us during the year and it's still possible now. They just have to find a way to get some momentum back, and clean up their approach a little more.

Other than the Nationals making better contact with RISP, I don't think we're doing things too differently. We've been running, trying some bunts, etc. We just haven't been good with RISP and our two SP horses let us down. Generally, 4 and 3 runs for Cole and JV would be enough for at least 1 if not 2 wins.

Against a team who won their last 8 regular season games, and has gone 10-2 in the post season? A boy can dream I guess. Think I am going to find a large batch of baby sharks and have a sacrifical bonfire in my backyard tonight. That would help about as much as "hope"

Year after year, it is really starting to be proven. It doesn't matter how you do in the regular season, just as long as you make it. All that really matters is who happens to be the hottest at the end of the season. Nats may be the 6th WC team to win it in roughly the past 20 years. That defies the odds.

That's what I kept saying during the season when people were worrying about getting homefield advantage. Get there and try to be hot and healthy. Give yourself a chance. I know we're all down, but it was still a fun season and a fun postseason. Gritty ALDS, walk-off ALCS, and we won another pennant worst case scenario. Losing the WS sucks, but it was still a good year. And, we should be good again next year.
