Sure we did. We were winning Game 1 the first few innings. Year after year, it is really starting to be proven. It doesn't matter how you do in the regular season, just as long as you make it. All that really matters is who happens to be the hottest at the end of the season. Obviously being the hottest team trumps home field advantage in the playoffs.

Bregman is MLB’s best example of Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” EXACTLY what my wife said last night!

In order to get the momentum back, one must first have the momentum. The Astros have never had the momentum in this series. Sure we did. We were winning Game 1 the first few innings. I guess we can say that the Astros had the momentum at the end of the 1st inning of game 1. Then Zimmerman hit his home run in the second to nullify Astros’ momentum and then the Astros wasted opportunities in innings 2-4 before the Nats took the lead in the 5th. So I stand corrected. We had the momentum for one inning.

If Greinke bombs in game 3, that July trade is really going to looks suspect.

How many really think this series is coming back to Houston right now. It will be back. I believe! Baseball fandom is the new opium for the masses. The problem with us hoping for a comeback is that we don't have any real pitching over the next 3 or 4 days. Greinke is a mystery, and then who? Urkle?

Our guys are being beat down by a team playing good, smart, fundamental baseball. Our guys are going to have to play good, smart, FUNDAMENTAL baseball to bring the series back to Houston. I don’t see our team changing their approach to the game at this point. Other than the Nationals making better contact with RISP, I don't think we're doing things too differently. We've been running, trying some bunts, etc. We just haven't been good with RISP and our two SP horses let us down. Generally, 4 and 3 runs for Cole and JV would be enough for at least 1 if not 2 wins. To be blunt........we have had our asses kicked in every aspect of the game.......No way tio sugar coat it.......they have embarrassed themselves defensively and at the plate by failing to hit with RISP. To make it short and sweet......the Nats have pitched and hit......the Astros have looked like shit.

If his clipboard told him to put Devenski on the roster, he should burn it. We have limited options off the bench because they insist on putting every horse shit reliever we have on the roster. We needed Straw and not Devenski. Luhnow does a great job overall and I agree with having a good rotation, but our bench has no depth. I don't care what they say, Pressly is not healthy and has no business on the roster.

Right after Pressley boogered up his leg on the way the first, my initial posts here were that his season was over. I was shocked he made the WS roster, and now wonder if he misled the team on the severity, just to get a chance at a ring.

He's never done it in his career. Cole or Verlander on short rest is asking for trouble. Whatever Verlander's pre-game routine is in the pen, it needs to be altered. He basically loses the game in the first inning due to terrible location on his pitches. He threw an 0-2 changeup to Rendon that hung in the middle of the plate and that cost us two runs and that was after he walked Turner on 4 pitches to start the game. He gave hp all 4 to the Yankees in the first inning of game 5 and then dominated. Some sort of adjustment is necessary,

He's never done it in his career. Kind of like Verlander winning a WS game (0-5)

He declared himself OK and that the problem was tearing scar tissue and there was no problem........He should have been replaced on the roster. AJ should have pulled Verlander at the same time he pulled Chirinos and brought in Harris and Maldonado

Kind of like buumping off part of a scab. Seems unlikely, that "NO" adverse damage happened at least in the vicinity of original tear. I don't mind a player playing through the pain, unless there are stakes like a WS ring.

Bregman's gonna have to show humility at some point if he's going to continue to choke in the postseason like this I don't get where his assuredness comes from if he lacks confidence in his abilities

Bregman's gonna have to show humility at some point if he's going to continue to choke in the postseason like this I don't get where his assuredness comes from if he lacks confidence in his abilities I am past being sick of his cocky little act while he chokes at the plate and boots ground balls in the field. The guy finally hits a home run last night after sucking for two weeks and still has his little strutting act with his four fingers. I agree that he needs to show humility but I doubt that is in his DNA.

Didn't Bregman take the blame after Game 1? He said he wasn't doing his job and had to figure it out. Actually I don't know why I'm asking since I just read an article about it. Still though, the same people saying Biggio and Bagwell were too bland are now saying Bregman is too cocky. What are we looking for??

Biggio and Bagwell both belong in the HOF and were great players and two of the greatest Astros to ever wear the uniform.......BUT, neither produced in the post -season.....great regular season hitters but under-performed in the post season.

So taking your take and Corch's, I would surmise too much cocky right now, definitely four fingers is not wanted.......on a different note, the Nats have: "Baby Shark"....maybe the Astros need to counter with "What does the Fox Say?"

Come on now. be fair. And I wouldn't say any of them completely sucked in the postseason. They all had some good series mixed in with the bad ones. They just weren't close to consistently good. Even Altuve was bad in the 2017 WS. Reddick now, Reddick sucks in the postseason.
