All that’s missing to enrage people is for Trump to put on the H-star cap.

I still think the Astros 2020 motto should be, “Shove this up their asterisk,” displayed with a picture of the 2020 WS Championship trophy.

I think, to me, the saddest part of this whole fiasco is that it's probably going to keep Altuve out of the HOF regardless of how well he plays from now on.

It's becoming more and more apparent that a large part of the media-driven outrage is the audacity of a middle-America team to take a system which had been in place for a long time and use it better than the ones who invented it. In doing so, they brought their team to edge of being a dynasty and that cannot be allowed to happen. What's even worse, that formerly also-ran team knew they were better than the sacred cows of baseball and let them know about it. How dare the Astros, a team which hadn't done a whole lot for 50 years, rise to eclipse the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox. To make matters worse, they weren't the Royals, who rose briefly, won a championship, and then plummeted back down to where they belonged. No, this brash young group of Astros showed every sign of being able to maintain their dominance for the foreseeable future. The people who hated the Astros for rising to the top of the game by beating their sacred teams now had an excuse to unleash all the invective they had stored. "Aha! They weren't really better than us, it was all because they cheated!" Look, what the Astros did was wrong. They cheated, Fiers took his ounce of revenge for sucking so bad he was left out of the playoffs, and they've been punished. I hate that it happened. It's endemic in MLB and the hypocrisy of the media and other fan bases just makes me want to vomit. You summed it up perfectly. The Astros had the audacity to beat the big boys at their own game. I haven't seen it stated any plainer. This whole mess happened because the gutless Fiers had to have revenge and we beat the damn Yankees three times in a row. Large market teams own Manfred so don't expect the Red Sox to be punished too severely and they don't have the balls to even investigate the Yankees or Dodgers.

Nah, he may not get as many votes as he would have, but, if he stays clean after this and puts together another really good 3-5 seasons, he should be fine. It helps that Correa spoke up for him, and I bet more details will come out that help his case as well.

Fiers did not.

Fiers did not. I'm very surprised Beltran hasn't released anything yet. In any case, it would be a minimum of a decade before Altuve would even be eligible, and that would be if he retired as soon as his contract extension is up. It's probably 13-14 years away at least.

He’s going to be the modern day Shoeless Joe. Joe continues to gain sympathy and will likely make it here pretty soon, somehow. If Altuve gets 2500+ Hits 400+ SB 200+ HRs and hits .300 for his career, he'll make it in the HoF. Maybe not first ballot, but he'll get in there. Especially if more people back up Correa's claims.

He has proven us right many times over. He talks the talk........let's see how he walks the walk.......He has a day of reckoning ahead of his spineless ass.

It would arguably be even sweeter than the first. No argument. It absolutely would, because the first one is forever tainted. It's not tainted for me. My opinions on some of the individual players' seasons number is lesser (like Marwin), but I still think they win that WS anyways. I honestly don't believe it influenced the postseason, and I don't think it made enough of a difference to affect the outcome of the divisional race that year when you see how far away 2nd place was. The only thing that it might have affected would have been our playoff seed which could have had us play Game 7 of the ALCS in NYC. We'll never know if that's true or if we wouldn't have won that game anyways. I'm only going to view our championship as tainted if it gets nulled and other past winners have their's nulled when they used PED-users on their teams.

I think Rose will never get in unless he saves a bus filled with kids. Everybody has forgotten about Palmeiro, mostly like people forgot about him when he was a player (which is why he was only a 4-time AS in 20 seasons or finished higher than top-5 in MVP voting). Always a star but never a superstar.

There are no supporters trying to get him in like with Santo. Maybe the Veteran's Committee in a decade or so revisits it.
