So its being said that the Astros will add atleast 2 SPs this offseason. I wonder who the ideal SPs will be? Context matters, read between the lines: Astros Intend To Add Veteran StartersThis makes it sound as if they'll be looking at veterans but not expensive veterans. Guys who have had a rough season or two but have the potential to bounce back. Wanting an inexpensive veteran who had a rough year describes Aaron Sanchez, which is one reason why I think we keep him.

Sanchez is still under team control so it wouldn't be a new signing from the FA market.

When is the MVP announcement? Today at 5:00 p.m. I'm sure they'll announce the NL first.

Poor Bregman. If he does win he'll get hammered by the court of public opinion. It's almost a no-win situation at this moment in time.
Course, 30 years from now he'd still have an MVP award on his mantle and nobody will care about the sign stealing shenanigans.

Sign Wheeler or Baumgarner. If the Mets want Correa, tell them to send us Lugo and two top-level prospects and they can have him. I bet you coud get Snydergaard for him straight up. But lugo plus dominic smith Alveraz and Stephen Villias Mets aren't trading anyone from their 25-man. They're going for the marbles next season

Sanchez is still under team control so it wouldn't be a new signing from the FA market. You are right.......I had forgotten. I think they envisioned him being at the back end of the rotation when the trade was made. He didn't stay healthy long enough for them to evaluate him. He did look good in his first start when he and the pen combined to no-hit the Mariners.

I totally agree that the pitchers were mismanaged in game 7. Not only did Hinch screw that up but he probably killed any chance we had of re-signing Cole. But we lost the series because we didn't hit with RISP.

Hinch screwed up royally taking Greinke out in the 7th inning of Game 7. There's a good chance Washington would've won anyway 3-2 in the 16th or some ridiculous shit like that though

This group of guys needs a nickname for when we refer to them in later years. And with all this drama, how satisfying would it be if we could get to and/or win another WS next year. That would piss so many people off.

incidentally my prediction about NYM roster doesn't extend to their part timers

Aaron is injured....I wouldn't be opposed to a minor league deal He is under contract to the Astros for 2020 at $5.6 million. If he is healthy and pitches as he has in the past and now being under Strom, he could be a bargain at that price.
