How does he put up "fake numbers"? Either he had the number or he didn't.......his numbers for 2019 were among the best of any reliever and better than most. I would spend money on him before I would Betances. Harris lulls you into a false sense of confidence and then bam, Kendrick homers to right field. What a crushing moment. I say move on...save money....get good deals, not overpays

Total team salary is dictating this...and it really going bargain shopping/clearance rack if the Astros re-sign Springer....which I am for....so it's paramount for the Astros in freeing up some money: Osuna, Correa and whatever some team will pay of Reddick's salary.

The pitch that created the "crushing moment" was well-located down and away Kendrick reached out and hit it off the foul pole in right field......Nothing wrong with the pitch. Throughout the regular season and in the playoffs, Harris was the most reliable reliever we had. I wouldn't just dump him without making an attempt to re-sign him. No reliever is dominant in every appearance, and, that includes Harris, Osuna, and the rest of them. Pressly was never 100% after going on the DL and probably should not have pitched in the post-season. We need a lefty in the pen......We have ignored that for too long. Speaking wasting money, keeping Devenski is throwing money away.....He has to go. I liked Abreu and he can combine with James to give us a strong pen if we do things right.

Before we start signing free agents, we need to know what this "investigation" is going to cost us. Some players may shy away from signing here if the penalty is too severe. I can't see us getting into a biddng war for any player.

If no one claims Blake... would not be against 2 years/$10M...and I think that would be great under value signing.

Before, I listed some other pitchers for incentive laden or minor league deals: Shelby Miller, Trevor Cahill, Adam Conley

If he’s not hurt, I wouldn’t mind signing him and trading Osuna. I agree...I think he has a higher ceiling/more ability than Osuna....and I think if you can get him for 2 year/10M or 12M, you do it... If Betances can be had for the same, I would sign both. Osuna costs in arbitration around $11M and next year close to $14... So since the money could be about the same: Trenien + Betances + Good Prospects >>>>>> Osuna

With the uncertainty about what penalties the Astros might receive hanging over the team and with Crane wanting to avoid the luxury tax, if possible, we may see some of our better prospects making the big league roster sooner than they might have otherwise. I could see Cristian Javier, Enoli Paredes, Whitley, Tyler Ivey and Brandon Bielak all making the big league roster at some point in 2020.
I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Marisnick moved this offseason. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Diaz traded this offseason. I’m beginning to think Straw, Tucker, Toro and Stubbs all make the opening day roster in 2020.
