And this is why go ahead and plan to get young and fast. You gotta start all the way over. If you understand this, no FA will wanna come here and its gonna be very very ruff to rebuild our orginazation from this. Then you would understand get ready and get people who can be ready in a year or less. There are many players out there, that are wasting away. Clint Frazier is one. Jose Martinez was another but to late I guess. Um Austin Riley could be another. Fans loved him at first but kinda down on him. There are atleast three teams that are doing everything they can to win know but guess what? FAs are going a different way. There are trades that can happen at this very moment. But I would only push one. Thats the Braves. I would wait till the deadline on any other one. I would wanna see what Springer does. See if he drives up his value. See what Yuli, Reddick, Grienke and Verlander all do. See what happens. These guys could be lites out, but then again they could be flops. Asking Springer to stay for an Overpriced contract is asinine. He will bolt for FA. At the deadline he Brantley and Reddick would be traded. Get what you can thats young. You might pull off a crazy deal. For the future. It is going to suck if this is where the Stros are heading for a rebuild. As a fan to wait for this team this long to dominate, they had the talent that cheating wasn't necessary. Correct. This is why most the fans on here are holding on like a leech. Glad we got Springers deal done He got a raise. He needs an extension. He wants to go. No point trade him at the deadline hope he stays healthy and hits decent so they can get something in return. If he doesnt sign a extention by reg season he is gone period |

1. Verlander and Greinke
2. No draft picks in 2020 or 2021 so tearing down the team doesn't help start the rebuild.

Both of whom didnt know this was gonna come out into the public like it did and both of whom are no none since type of players. Yea I dont see them wanting to leave at all.......................... And you are correct no picks Thats why you wait till the deadline and find those lost treasure Minor leaguers. I.E. A Clint Frazier type or even a couple of those Dodger prospects to ship Verlander to. BRAVES are gonna be hot and heavy at the deadline so yea theres another one |

I have had about as much of the sanctimonious, high horse sitting crap as I can stand. This is about nothing more than slapping the hand of the most visible hand in the cookie jar. As a coach, I have taught my kids to look in while on base or sitting on the bench and just about any other way possible for either the catcher, coach or pitcher to allow us to see what the pitch is. We have devised a way for the runners to tip to the hitter what is coming and the location of what is coming. Any baseball person would do this. It has always been taught. Major League Baseball put live action feeds in to assist in replay. Having been in the Minute Maid dugout, I can tell you exactly where the feed was and it was very accessible to the players or anyone who wanted to see it. Not a big secret. I am by no means condoning what happened or that the Stros should not be held somewhat accountable for their actions.
Let's say that a player or ambitious coach, while walking through the tunnel that leads to the clubhouse or to the toilet that is just inside the door on the left (probably no more than 15 feet from the actual dugout) saw a monitor on the table that had live feed. That live feed had been put there by MLB. And while looking at the live feed, he noticed that he could see what the catcher was putting down. Hmm...this is the same thing he had always been taught to look for while on base. So the player or the ambitious coach gets an idea and you have the makings of this huge scandal. It is nothing more than that. Fans and commentators alike are losing their minds over this and it is as simple as that. I can promise you that there is not a team that hasn't done this in some capacity. 8-9 teams that were not named but recognized in the report is a short number. It is very common for people to be sanctimonious when someone else is caught. This is because they most likely have dirty laundry as well and are just glad that the spotlight isn't shining on them.
Like I said, I am not condoning what happened and fully understand why MLB and the Stros ownership had to act. It is just like the steroid controversy. It was widely known throughout baseball what was happening there. It did not cause issues with fans, ownership or Bud Selig's office because it was saving the game by putting butts in seats and selling advertisements. Once the game had bounced back from the 94-95 strike, things started to stir and people started to trot out their high horses. Don't get caught up in all of this craziness. Like the Wizard said in The Wizard of Oz..."Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"
