Team closest out there to making WS next year, (and most years) are the Dodgers. Now that the bums know that Kershaw is not a big money pitcher, watch them make a run. Could be. I still think it'll be the Angels or Padres some how. Don't count out the Yankees being a top bidder.

One main reason why I hope the Astros can do something to keep Cole.
This post season Verlander/Greinke starts come up to a 4-5 record
Even if you add in the two "bullpen" starts thats 6-5 and probably not good enough to advance to the World Series.
No matter what our offense looks like the next 2 years, without a guy like Cole we are in trouble. Hopefully we can steal a guy in FA like Odorizzi for a cheap price and he ends up doing well for us, but the next guy could very well end up like Miley down the stretch.
I have no doubt we can win the division without Cole, just how far can we go after would be the question.

Speaking of Miley...man, what a way to destroy your value.

Speaking of Miley...man, what a way to destroy your value. He's a FA and he's lost 2/3rds of his value in September alone.

He'll probably end up having to settle for a similar deal like he got last year.
But not with us...

McHugh is another one who killed his value.

McHugh is another one who killed his value. I bet he retires. I think he should go out the way he is now unless he just really needs the money. I don't like seeing people trying to hang on forever, and if he finishes now he ends up with a pretty solid career line to be proud of: 58-43 3.95 ERA 102 ERA+ (2-1 3.60 ERA in the postseason)

McHugh is another one who killed his value. At best he’s only a reliever now.

McHugh is another one who killed his value. At best he’s only a reliever now. He's not even that. Spends more time at home than Ashitaka.

NO ONE spends more time at home than him. Is he still alive? If you can call it that.
