The Tigers jerseys at home should be nameless.

Freehan should be in the HoF.

I like Blum, because he tells like it is, doesn't sugar coat it. And also he is funny... Bagwell is supposed to be in the booth with them for a game during the Mariners series. I always enjoy listening to him and wish they had him on more often. I like Bagwell too. But you can tell he drank a little before going on the mic.

Freehan should be in the HoF. I agree completely. And Mickey Lolich should be in, too! Then again, I might be just slightly biased.

I disagree on Lolich. Good pitcher but a 104 ERA+ just isn't enough for me. Of course. But as I said before, I might be just slightly biased. Mickey was my personal favorite Tigers pitcher of all time. It went beyond stats. He, like Bill, had a calm, confident demeanor both on and off the field. Not an overpowering personality. And his performance in the 1968 WS was a great story, itself. So yeah, no HoF for Mickey except in my heart.

I thought I'd circle back to this. I really admire guys who choose to take the high road in situations like that.

You mean you appreciate people who aren’t snowflakes? I guess you could put it like that but I wanted to be more complimentary than just saying he wasn't a snowflake. Ohtani was a real Angel in this matter. wait ... what did I just say?

Speaking of the Tigers, I could see them being a legit suitor for Correa.

Speaking of the Tigers, I could see them being a legit suitor for Correa. Yeah, but I'm not sure I'd want to see that. Carlos is a great player but this could turn into a bidding war. I don't mind a player having a high salary but I hate long contracts.

I don't mind a player having a high salary but I hate long contracts. I agree...Astros have 3 more seasons of Altuve and Bregman, I would be for overpaying Carlos for that time. I think Click will fold on Carlos if he is determined to sign a 8+ plus deal. Carlos's has elite talent. His defense might scream 8 year deal, but his offense and injury history doesn't

Correa is going to get paid. While a lot of us have been complaining about him, he's 3rd in total WAR in the AL even ahead of Vlad. He only trails Semien by .2 for 2nd place. He'll never catch Ohtani unless Ohtani gets hurt immediately, but he is having one of the best overall seasons in the AL this year while playing in the 2nd most games of his career now.
He's going to finish the year with 33 WAR over his career thus far, and he'll only by 27 years old this offseason. He's playing elite defense while maintaining a 130+ OPS+. I know we all get frustrated with the guy, but he's having a helluva season. I think we may be severely underrating the kind of contracts he's going to get offered....

The sooner people accept that he's gone, the better. Same with Springer. All the long-term contracts that have been given to our guys have been extensions that only buy out a few free agent years. Carlos Lee was the last mega contract given out to someone who wasn't already under contract. McCullers is an exception in terms of free agent years, but they still only gave him five years despite him being just 27.
Jeremy Pena and Pedro Leon are very legit prospects, and there are some others, too, like Cristian Gonzalez and Correa's younger brother J.C. (who is having a huge year at the plate). I just really don't see them resigning him. It would be so out-of-character. Maybe they stretch a little and go for $190 million over seven years, but he'll probably get at least one offer better than that, even.

I said before the season started I'd be cool with 7yr/$200M for Correa. Don't know if I'd go as high as 8yr/$225 even though that probably wouldn't be enough to land him. I believe Carlos when he said this front office doesn't do contracts that long. I think Click will agree to a 7th year at Crane's urging, who'll up the AAV to $235M range and that'll be the final offer

All of his offensive numbers are far above average. Especially for an elite defender.

The only offense I care about from hitters is hitting with RISP. At the very least advance the runners.

No definitive news yet. Baddoo might have to go through concussion protocol. If he's lucky, Hill will have bruised ribs and a sore shoulder for a while. If unlucky, it will be much worse. Good news on both players. Baddoo went through concussion protocol, then was placed on the DL, then went on a short rehab assignment with the Muddies. Hill went directly to the DL. Hill has been in the Tigers lineup since Aug 21. Baddoo returned yesterday.
