My sentiments exactly. When I read the report about Hinch’s actions during all this I was not surprised at all. In spite of the fact that he didn’t approve of what was going on, he just let Cora and the players run amuck and do what they wanted to. AJ always looked like a players manager, now after reading some articles the inmates were running the asylum. That is the side effect.

One thing we’ve learned from this is that we shouldn’t put these players up on a pedestal. We all love them, but they’re not above standing against foul play. It’s disappointing.

I can get enough grieve here with the Stros holding the edge in the last few playoffs with the Yankees, now this. As I tell them there big boys can know a breaking ball is coming and still can't hit it. If you lived in a free state, you could carry a firearm and put the quayatis to that bullshit. In PA it is an open carry state, without a permit. I can strut around like Barney Fife with my .357. But without a concealed permit the weapon has to be unloaded in your car. I should have mentioned the only part of the state where there is no open carry is the City of Philadelphia. A place where you would need a weapon.

I read where Crane himself will be running Baseball Operations for the time being. I’m thinking a lot of the geeks in the Astros FO will be packing their bags soon.

Where does this scandal place guys like Elias, Stearns, Mejdal, Goldstein, and Luhnow in your book? Stearns was gone in September 2015, so he shouldn’t have been involved in any way. Elias and Mejdal? They were probably aware that something was going on. Based on the email that was released, there is little doubt that Goldstein was in the middle of it. Luhnow had to be aware of it. It won’t look good on a resume for any of the guys who were in the FO in 2017. I don’t think it will keep Luhnow from getting a job with another team. If Elias falls on his face in Baltimore, it could hurt his chances of getting another job in MLB. Same for Mejdal. Wouldn’t be surprised if we have seen the last of Goldstein.

You remember the much-poopooed article I posted not long ago about the toxic workplace inside the Astros front office? A lot of them may be glad to see the boss go.

Hypocritcal son of a bitch can burn in hell. Settle down, son...don't throw your hip out. In a space of 7 days ... Saints get screwed by the Zebras for the second conseuctive playoff season Neil Peart died Astros lose Luhnow, while cheating players and hypocritical owner stay or skate. And Dust Pan Baker is mentioned as a replacement for Hinch. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! Texans choke under the weight of coach who doesn't deserve to be even in a Pop Warner Kiddie Football League LSU wins, unleashing 20 obnoxious relatives who like to remind me weekly of that fact they won it . And my dog shit on the floor this morning. Yeah, my f'n head is about to explode.

Really pisses me off. As far as the Astros, they have sunk to as low as a team can get. Players cheated. Coaching staff cheated. I don’t believe what Luhnow said about not knowing about it. I wash my hands of this team. Red Sox will pay next. Alex Cora is the ultimate cheater. Disgusting.

Prostitutes have to take care of their clients first F the players. I didn’t really follow this story much until yesterday, but this is sickening what this team did to try and win. Unforgivable. Here’s a good story on CNN explaining what the cheaters did.... amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/01/13/us/houston-astros-mlb-sign-stealing-allegations-investigation/index.html

Leaders are accountable for the actions of their subordinates. That is why Luhnow has been made (unfortunately) the ultimate scape goat, and why I am damning Jim Crane for his chicken shit firing. With that accountablity, he is as f--ing culpable as Hinch or Luhnow. If he had any honor what so ever, he'd sell the team.
Luhnow's situation is the most tragic. This was the most intense and comprehensive investigation in the history of MLB, and not one shred of evidence implicated Luhnow. I understand accountablity, and based on my experience, any many managers succumb to unscrupulous underlings. Hinch betrayed the trust of his boss, and hopefully is polishing his resume for a Jiffy Lube gig.
As great as Luhnow now was at his job, he forgot one of the cardinal rules of being a manager. Make sure you properly not only work the strategic aspects, but also make sure all parts of the operational pieces of the organization are covered. Good supervisors micro-manage, until a 100% trust level is established. Any decent manager who opts into a shady sitution is going to go into crisis managment mode, and cut the rot off at the head. Luhnow knows that. And HInch is that "ROT" that caused our demise.
So the birds keep singing, flowers keep blooming, and rival fans revel in our misery, well knowing their own teams cheat as much as the next one. And the players?.... I am sure their conscience's are hurtling terribly today (/S)

Watch them hire Brad Ausmus I'd totally be on board with that. Me too. I was always a fan of Ashby and Ausmus as catchers, Ashby as an announcer and Ausmus as a manager.
