So, because you 'know it" and say it makes it fact........er, I don't think so. Did you expect teammates to rat on each other? When Jose started being accused of stealing the MVP from Judge what did you expect? Of course, they stepped in to defend him. Even if they knew he was guilty, they would not say it. As pitiful as Reddick and Kemp were, I might believe they didn't benefit from the sign stealing. I don't believe the BS about Springer being guilty while little dumbass Jose was squeaky clean. If Jose isn't guilty, it's because he was too dumb to comprehend what he was being told. If one benefitted, they all did. Individual players were not convicted.......the organization was convicted. I don't care if you post accounts or anything else.......You would slant it to make yourself look right. Compare Altuve's numbers from 2017 to 2019 to what he is doing now and tell me it doesn't look like he cheated right along with everyone else. I believe facts. You can believe whatever you lie to yourself about. Your "facts" don't mean shit until you provide the honorable Corch with a f***ing notarized letter from Manfred stating that Altuve didn't cheat and Jork is the best player in baseball.

I love Altuve. And he's guilty. Even if he didn't use the system, he gave tacit consent for its continuation. And he benefitted from it whether he used it or not. In the criminal world, those that know about a crime and don't report it are culpable. I see no difference. These guys aren't who we thought they were morally or talent-wise. Sad, but true.

Altuve seems to not have benefitted from the cheating according to that spreadsheet, and teammates have constantly said that he (including Reddick and Kemp) didn’t participate in the cheating, but this season has seemed awfully suspect and merely adds duel to whatever Bellinger and other said about him.
He routinely takes pitches that he should crush and has been whiffing on pitches he normally hits. I’ve never seen pitchers be so bold in their approach to him before. His contact ability has been the worst I’ve ever seen from him. It only leads fans to believe that he did cheat after all.

I guess I just look at it as not ratting out your teammates, as far as Altuve is concerned. As far as not being who we thought they were, they're mostly very young men who made a poor decision. It happens. It's not like these guys are out beating their wives (outside of Osuna), or selling drugs. I don't like it, but if you've been part of a sports team at high school level or above, you know how these kinds of things can escalate to more than they were originally intended. Especially if leadership doesn't step in and correct something. That's why you have leadership in place.

I don't see any reason to be suspicious when you look at Altuve's home/road splits, and how he was still a fantastic hitter in both 2018 and 2019 as well. He's struggling this year, but sometimes players have down years AND there are a number of guys having a hard team with this strange season. And for what it's worth, he is starting to look like he could end up having a pretty decent September at the rate he is going. If he had 100 more games, who knows how he would end up. In a 60 game season one brutal month will ruin the year. And that's what he has had. I wouldn't blow it up to more than that at this point. If he continues to struggle this bad in 2021, I might be concerned. Edit: Kris Bryant is hitting .195/.283/.301. It's a weird bad year, and not just for Altuve.

All we have is what some players said who wanted to cover up for him when he was being hammered for stealing the MVP from Judge. If the rest cheated, so did this little dumbass. Jake Marisinick> Myles Straw...............now, prove me wrong, Kermit.

I'm familiar with the comradery between teammates and how difficult it can be to take a stand against something that isn't right. I'm certainly not suggesting that they are evil people or criminals. I am stating that there was a failure to contain active cheating by Hinch, Altuve and others. I understand how difficult it can be for humans to go against the grain, but apparently not one of them did. That fact makes all of them lesser in my eyes. Your mileage may vary.

Like you, I wanted to believe in their innocence when this story broke. I was not convinced of their guilt until the season was underway and we started seeing our "stars" who had been part of the best offense in baseball looking like AAA players who needed to be sent down......Altuve won an MVP and batting titles and it looks like he cheated to win all of it. I argued that Bregman should have wo the MVP last year instead of Trout and I had to eat crow because there is no doubt in my mind that Alex cheated. I agree with talshill that all were guilty. This was more than a "mistake" made by inexperienced, naive kids......these are grown men who know right from wrong and legal from illegal. Alex Cora is supposedly the instigator and the guy who devised the scheme to steal the signs....Beltran helped him. Hinch got angry, pitched a fit, but did nothing to get it stopped. Luhnow lied when he claimed he didn't know about it. As expected, the Astros replaced the Yankees as the most hated team in baseball. Our players have not handled the fact that the entire country knows what they did. I think the pressure has gotten to them while trying to prove they can hit and win games without cheating. As a result, our offense is awful as are Altuve, Bregman, Springer, and Gurriel. Correa has been inconsistent. Brantley appears to be handling it the best. Tucker wasn't involved and is our most productive hitter.

However, I knew not to call them that..Their teammates knew who the dumbasses were without me having to point them out. I had a couple of parents who were told to kiss my ass, and, I kept my job after telling them to kiss it.

You can drool all over Altuve if that is your choice. My stance is that the extreme drop in his production is caused by something, and, since there doesn't appear to be anything physically wrong with him, it is either mental or he is no longer getting help from the sign-stealing operation. MLB found the Astros guilty even though their won-loss record was notably better on the road. That is the main reason I originally thought they were innocent and being used as an example because they kept beating the media darling Yankees, Dodgers, and Red Sox. Not only has Altuve's production hit rock bottom but others have been below what we came to expect.......Bregman and Gurriel to name two. Springer's production is down but still better than the combined production of Altuve and Bregman. Tucker has out-produced all of them and he was not involved in the cheating. Brantley is the only veteran who has performed as expected. Who knows what role banging on trash cans had in helping any of our players. Teammates could be expected to vouch for him........did we expect them to throw him under the bus after he won an MVP and batting titles? He isn't the only one who hit better on the road.......the team as a whole hit better on the road. I refer to him as dumbass because of his continued mental errors on the bases and having no patience at the plate. If he were intelligent, why would he keep getting picked off so often and taking chances on the bases that are clearly poor choices. What intelligent player bunts with two outs in the 9th when he represents the tying run? What intelligent player swings at the first pitch when the hitter in front of him has just walked on four pitches and the pitcher has been having control problems? Altuve has shown that he is a dumbass and has earned his title. Looking over his mental blunders simply because you like him makes no sense. I like him as a person and I know that no player tries harder than he does, but, that still doesn't make him intelligent.

Based on a 45-game stretch sample size. Are you trying to convince us that a 45 game stretch is merely a slump that all players experience? An expected slump normally lasts for only a few games...not an entire season. Umm yeah, plenty of players go through stretches over a season (or even an entire season) where they slump. Kris Bryant, Bellinger, are a couple others having horrible seasons for them off the top of my head. Look at Chris Davis from 2013-2015. Great - Horrible - Great. Hell, look at the entire 2nd half of Ripken's career: Elite - Bad - Bad - Good - Bad - Mediocre - Bad - Bad - Elite - Bad And this is not a normal season. Plus, he hasn't been bad all season. He had a bad month in August. Up until yesterday, his September numbers were down for him, but not horrible. Unfortunately, a bad month in a 3 month season will ruin your season. And like Thomas said, he was very good before 2017. From 2012-2016 (when he was our everyday 2B) he hit .314 with an .800 OPS averaging 12 HR 38 SB and 197 Hits... And that includes his very pedestrian 2012 and 2013 seasons. You're discounting everything he has accomplished based on this one partial season that has seen all kinds of weird things happen. There's nothing wrong with you defending George (even though we all like George), but tearing Altuve down to do so with such a limited sample size is what doesn't make sense. What Altuve has done over the previous 6 seasons is HoF material.

I am afraid the sign-stealing scandal will keep Altuve or any other Astro on those teams out of the HOF. i hope that is not the case, but, it could very well happen. I hope you are right about this just being an off year. I hope what we see now isn't what we are going to get for $30 million a year,

Jose will be just fine. This year has been a fluke in many ways. In my opinion he is the 2nd best position player to ever put on our uniform. Here is a tip of the cap to you Mr. Biggio!!! Biggio will always be Mr. Astro in my book.
