Drink some fluids with the prednisone; it has a tendency to constipate some people. Zithromax is a good antibiotic if the Covid causes a secondary bacterial infection, otherwise it does nothing for the virus. Thanks for the advice. Why do they call in Zithromax if it doesn't help? I feel like I have been ran over by a freight train. Viral infection can break down tissues and leave them open to a bacterial invasion. The Zithromax should prevent that. Many times over the years physicians have prescribed antibiotics even when they knew it wouldn't address the primary cause (the virus) because 1) viral infection can leave you open to bacterial infection and 2) a lot of patients aren't intellectually equipped to hear a doctor say, "It's a viral infection, nothing we can really do for it". All they know is that they feel bad and the doctor didn't "give them anything" for it. In the case of Covid the Zithromax is well worth taking; there's quite a bit of evidence for its efficacy. Mankind hasn't been able to cure a virus yet. Covid is no different. Your immune system will fight it off or it won't. It sounds cold, but it's the truth. |

Thats all I said The author also clearly said: the odds of Realmuto ending up in Houston appear slim to none.Apparently you don't care what he thinks, either. lol |

Both of my parents and my brothers just tested positive for covid. The hospital in Lufkin turned him away because all of the rooms are full. Smh. Sad to hear this, friend. This virus can be a killer, but sometimes it's just a rough patch. I hope the best for you and yours. |

Besides being currently sick, I'm still dealing with the loss of my mother in May and now my brother died in early December, so a little depressed. Gradually improving daily. So sorry to hear about your mother and brother. There is never a good time for the loss of a loved one, but this has been an especially hard year to deal with such losses. If you WEREN’T depressed, with all you are dealing with, I would be more concerned. Sounds like some time off is a good plan. |

Went to Longview HS, Kilgore JC and graduated from SFA with a teacher's degree. Taught Middle School in Webster, TX (Clear Lake Area). Taught some Astronaut kids. Huge Astros Fan. Actually huge Houston Sports Fan, but Astros were #1. Went to plenty of games with her. I didn't mention on the board until yesterday....My posting of it was alcohol induced....Her passing still hasn't hit me yet.... |

Lost mine 10 years ago and I still think about it some times. I do have to say though if you can pick a way to go out the way your mom did would be my preference. That is the way my dad died but my mom lingered and suffered. So though it truly sucks as it was unexpected but if I could pick my way to go out that would be it. My father and mother in law of 46 years both have dementia. They both still recognize us but do not remember our names. In their lucid moments you can tell they are not enjoying life too much anymore but they do enjoy the visits when we go to their house. Best guess is that they will hang on for a couple more years and only be a shell of the vibrant pair that they were. So yes if I could pick my way to meet my maker it would be like your mom. I just hope that I last long enough to see the grand kinds graduate, right any left over wrongs I may of done, then fall over dead while enjoying some Texas whiskey. |

Realmuto would be good anywhere. He's the second ranked FA this offseason and most consider him the best catcher in baseball right now. But I'm curious who these 'experts' are who think he's a good fit for the Astros ... who already have a solid catcher in Maldando. Especially considering Realmuto is likely to get Five years, $125MM. That's a significant cost for a team who doesn't need a catcher but does desperately need an outfielder and at least one elite relief pitcher. I'm not saying it couldn't happen. It just seems a very unlikely considering the Astros' actual needs. There insiders according to Tals hill and a couple other websites I wish somebody would shove Realmuto up your anus. |

I'm good with getting Castro back in a platoon role with Maldonado. Defensively that's a very good tandem, and Castro is a solid hitter against righties. It's certainly better than whomever that guy we had last year was. If they really used them in a full platoon situation, they could probably maintain a .700+ OPS. Which for the catcher position is pretty darn good, especially for relatively cheap.
