Zach Greinke. Great job keeping those bats quit. I go along with that. I'll even give Dusty a plug for not screwing up the game. LOL

It would be great if the Yankees didn't make the playoffs. I’d rather the A’s didn’t. Yes, it would be great if the A's didn't make it, cuz then the Astros should have won the division.... However, the Yankees are a stacked team; and if all their players are healthy come playoff time, they could be the team to beat.... Right now they're hurt, so they're beatable.

He's not settled in yet, so he's making mistakes.... You see it in the outfield, on the base paths and at the plate. As the season goes, I think he'll bring it together..... And by season's end, he will have solidified CF...He will be what the Astros need, a player who can get OB and score runs...Plus be near elite or elite level defensively....

He should get his total average above .250 and his OB above .330 by the All-Star break.... And hopefully at season's end .265/.345...with 25 SB+

So far, he can’t even steal third base on a lefty and has been caught stealing 4 times already. This would be fine if he had about 20 steals, but he only has 6.

I hope you are right, but, I don't see the higher ceiling that you mention. I haven't seen him improve in any phase of the game since the season began. I don't think he's the answer in CF, but, he and Chas will have to do for the time being. I think Chas is better, more confident, has more power and equal speed. Chas is a more intelligent base runner. Straw is unsure of himself, doesn't know how to get a lead off the base. He has a LONG way to go to become an elite defensive outfielder. McCormick and Tucker are both better defensively.

His ability to read pitchers is like a D+ so far. Bagwell had an A easily.

I'm just hoping he brings it together for the Astros, and not for someone else....

What I see in Straw is someone that has not settled in yet, he is pressing, he has jitters.... Making bad decisions in all three fronts: batting, running and fielding. Which has made a lot of people turn sour on him. But still we're only talking about a third of the season.... Let's see if he starts pulling it together, living up to the moment...

But he can be a guy that gets on base, steals bases, scores runs and plays elite defense.... Just do what he did in the minors

I can see Straw pressing because he has huge shoes to fill. That could be the main issue. Whatever it is, he is too unsure of himself. You can see it at the plate and on the bases. He is getting a little better in CF. He should realize that nobody expected him to be another George Springer. He isn't the same type player and has no power compared to George who could hit it out of any park. Thomas may be right about Straw ending up with a better career than McCormick, but, I don't see it now. McCormick is more relaxed and more aggressive. Straw looks lost at times. I have seen steady improvement in Chas that I have not seen in Straw.

But I'm crossing my fingers he plays up to his ability/talent level, and then the Astros are in really good shape.
