Ohtani is, at worst, a #2 starter, AND an all-star caliber hitter. Correa is having a very good year but Ohtani is amazing. And I was not a believer in him when he got here. It was obvious he could hit, but what he's doing now is game-changing. Has he improved the Angels in any way? They are still a half assed team. We're all aware of your opinion. You can repeat it every day after he is probably the unanimous MVP.

Andre Dawson and Alex Rodriguez won MVP’s in last place. Most impressive player wins. Yes, in the minds of most. My idea of an MVP is the player who leads his team to a title, not the bottom of the league. Dawson and Rodriguez were impressive, no doubt about it. Because "most" aren't f***ing mongoloids like you are.

And, I am well aware that you are in awe of him and his personal stats. He still hasn't done shit to improve his team.....they sucked when he got there and they still suck. So, he puts up numbers and they don't mean jack.

Every last one of you can disagree with me and that doesn't bother me in the least. MVP's do something besides put up big numbers. And, I repeat........I am not the one who told our team MVP and best player to GTFO.....That would be you. I am well aware of your opinion of me. but, be sure that my opinion of you is no better.

Someone tell Bregman he can’t just take every outside pitch.

One Question if Ohtani wasn't on the Angels would their record be the same or much worse.
Following Corch's view, he doesn't raise them up. My only contention is as I said last nite a Player of Ohtani caliber and is on a team and if that is so how much better would have to play to have them in contention for a playoff spot. Since this is a Team Sport with individual Stats how much should it be on Just one player, even one who is playing better than anyone else on his team on average to be the sole reason they are or aren't in the Playoffs

How is Bielak not better with the stuff that he has? Walsh just struck out on a 91 mph changeup.

Not to mention that just last week Sherwie was bitching about players not taking outside pitches. Taking or not taking? You were complaining about them swinging at outside pitches. Now, as usual in your fickleness, you're complaining about not swing at outside pitches.

I just want to know when this team will have back-to-back strong wins and not go to sleep the very next day with a subpar showing.

There is no place other than professional sports where the guy who gets the most media attention and makes daily appearances on ESPN wins an MVP when his team is terrible. Look at every sport below the professional level and the MVP will be selected from the team that WINS. I was on committees that selected all-district, all-region, and all-state teams and every last one of the MVP's came from the team that won the title. We didn't give it to a guy with the best numbers on a team that didn't do shit. When have you seen Conference MVP's in college sports selected from losing teams? It doesn't happen. The media is impressed with gaudy stats and they are good for personal recognition. But, stats that don't help a team WIN don't mean a thing except to those who are stat geeks.

As it is, his numbers do not improve the Angels position in the standings, and, they would be no worse without him. They would still finish ahead of the Rangers but trail the other three teams in the division. But, since he leads the league in home runs and pitches, he is the golden boy. His batting average is around .260 ,but, who cares.....he hits home runs. LOL LOL To answer your question, the Angels would be in the EXACT position in the AL West standings with or without Ohtani.

If they had a healthy Trout and Rendon, they would probably be challenging for a playoff spot. It is NOT Ohtani's fault those two are injured and can't contribute. Ohtani is a superstar......no question about it. I wouldn't say he was being punished if he didn't receive the MVP. If the winner of the award was on the team that won the AL, or at least a division title, then, that player would be rewarded instead of Ohtani being punished.

I know he gets blasted for the first ball hitting but that was the better pitch to hit and goes for one outside on the second pitch. If he is going to be that aggressive I wish he would have gone for the first as it was in his zone.

It's best not to think about it
