I was counting on him to hold the Dodgers down. He did! What a timely double play! Wouldn't you know it......Joe West is behind the plate. LOL

It seems the Dodgers have an all-star at every position. As much as I hate the Yankees, I hate the Dodgers more. I hope Bauer is watching. Lol.

Dave Roberts just blinked. Pulled Scherzer at less than 100 pitches in favor of Joe Kelly. This could open the flood gates.

The Cards couldn't get the job done. Kudos to them for making it a game until the end, though. 1-1 tie going into the bottom of the ninth. Two outs, then a walk, then a walk-off homer for the Dodgers. I guess someone else will have to take out the trash.

Go figure.

If they brought Stubbs, they must be prepared to do a lot of pinch hitting for Maldonado...

The White Sox didn't bring Keuchel either. Shows how bad he has been since July.

Why the hell would we have Siri on this roster? Marwin is no star but a better choice than Siri. I'd also take Odorizzi over Maton. Having Stubbs as a third catcher isn't a bad idea because it lets us pinch hit for Maldonado at a crucial time. The main thing I don't get is putting Siri on this roster because of his injury plus we don't need that many outfielders. I guess he will be the pinch runner if needed. He is not as good defensively as Meyers or McCormick.

I'd also take Odorizzi over Maton. Debatable choice. Maton has strung together several good days between his train wrecks. Odo over Yimi seems like a slam dunk to me. JMO.

I'm sure they're not 100% sold on Brantley's health for this series.

However, in doing so, they promoted Meyers, who did well for the team. Maton has been a bust, but let's see what he can do next year. Let's just hope he is not needed to pitch in a crucial situation in the 2021 playoffs. His pitches look so hittable, despite his alleged great spin rates.

I don't think Marwin has any history of wearing the tools of ignorance so he wouldn't be able to serve as an emergency catcher. Does anyone on the Astros has any catching experience other than the regular catchers?

Although he never actually got in a game as catcher.

If you're pressed into using him and it costs you a game, it's not the end of the world. Big difference in the postseason.

Of all the moves they made over the years, Taylor is the best bang for their buck. Go figure. You generally get good bang for the buck with arb years players. Chris Taylor is more than solid at the plate and a versatile utility man. He'll see a big bump in salary when he's FA this winter.

We have no need for either in a five game series. Some interesting stats. for pitches 1-15 in a game Odorizzi has a sub 3 era and a 1.00 whip and a 229 ba against Grienke also has a sub 3 era and a .85 whip and a 179 ba against for pitches 16-30 in a game Odorizzi has a sub 3 era and a 1.45 whip and a 239 ba against Grienke also has a sub 3 era and a .87 whip and a 179 ba against. so both of these guys are better than very reliever we have except Presley and Graveman for an inning of work so both should of been on the roster unless their panties got into a wad for not being named starters.
