This team has had rotten luck since ‘17. They had the wind taken out of their sails in ‘18 with that dumb Benintendi catch. They couldn’t win a WS home game in ‘19 because Hinch went to his BFF Harris instead of Cole, they had a turncoat snitch on the team who smiled for the cameras with his WS ring, they were shut down by Morton last season, Verlander was unavailable this year and probably for the rest of his Astros career, and now they have possibly lost their ace for the year. Not cool, not cool. Not that the Baseball Gods would want to slap us around a bit or nothing but......... |

I think it’s fine to criticize Dusty for a move here and there, but hurling insults at him ad nauseam is pointless. There’s a Facebook group I’m part of that uses Dusty as a punching bag 24/7.How many points for slapping the toothpick out of his mouth? |

Will we call up Jake O. to take Lance's spot on the roster? I think Lance stays on the roster unless it is decided that he will not be available at all. I hate to think of Odorizzi being on the mound in an ALCS or WS game. I don't think Dusty wants Odorizzi and I agree with him on that. |

Mercy look at this call to end the game. Robot umpires. Please. Or change the rule so that in the playoffs, games can not end on questionable calls without review. Not that this guy had much of chance against Scherzer, but..... Back in 1986 NLCS the umpiring crewing had an ump who had it in for the Astros.... Fred Brocklander. If general call review had existed back then, we may have been '86 champions. |

What exactly is the role of taxi squad players in the postseason? Members of the taxi squad are permitted to travel with the team and participate in pre-game workouts. They can't appear in uniform or in the dugout during the game. That makes them readily available to play the next day after a player is injured and removed from the playoff roster. A team can put any player currently in the organization on the playoff roster, but selecting a player from the taxi squad is the most convenient way to accomplish a mid-series injury replacement. |
