I think it bares mentioning that Click's reliever adds have been pretty damn good this postseason so far. Especially Maton. They certainly have so I guess "Lord Strom" has done a good job with them after all. Maton is beginning to show why Click traded Straw to get him. Straw was expendable due to the presence of Meyers and McCormick, who both are better than Straw, especially with the bat.

I'll have to see James stay with us and produce when I see it. Whitley may end up doing better. LOL I agree with Saint.........James is a lost cause.

Interesting factoid.....
With all the head hunting in revenge we've expected this year, you'd think we would have set a record for HBP. Surprisingly we were only at 64, with the league record at 108 by the 2008 Indians. In fact we were 17th out of 30 in that category.
Perceptions vs facts so to speak.

Did you guys ever get out of junior high?
We all say stuff when the team is not pitching well or hitting but all the childish games towards each other is stupid. We have people in here that have advance degrees action worse than my wife friend 10 years old.

Atlanta has a walk-off in the Ninth. A very low scoring game between them

I'd be more than happy to stop this little feud, but, I continue being followed all over the board by a dummy that only knows how to curse, call me the same ridiculous names over and over and over, and, come up with all kinds of childish insults. All of this is a reflection on him, not me. LOL

For the sake of his future in MLB and the Astros 2021 post-season chances, I am hoping that Luis Garcia will be placed on the IL and removed from the ALCS roster. The kid has pitched his heart out for this team, but he is running on fumes now.
The most pitches he had ever thrown in a season prior to 2021 was 1,823 in 2019. He threw only 203 pitches in 2020. He threw 2,502 pitches in the 2021 regular season. That is a dramatic increase in workload for a young pitcher.
As long as he is on the roster Dusty is going to keep running him out there. Hopefully Click will take charge and remove García from the roster for the remainder of the playoffs so that Dusty can’t use him anymore. For the life of me I still don’t understand why Dusty started Garcia in game #2 rather than Urquidy.

I was just told in the last few days that Dusty wasn't abusing our young pitching, which was his professional perception. Thanks for the research OP, your work is always top notch.

Neither one of us understands why Urquidy didn't get the start in game 2. What we are seeing with Dusty's handling of Garcia is evidence as to why he never should have been hired. He has done this crap throughout his career as a manager.

Amen. The ghosts of the pitching arms of Mark Prior and Kerry Wood let out a collective moan like a gothic Halloween horror flick. I hope his fan club here is taking note.

I think you may have a better underdstanding overall mindset of the young athlete than most of us. I think Dizzy Dean is maybe the best historical example of what can happen to a pitcher who tries to play through the pain. In context, in the modern era when there are 4/5 way discussions around this that center on management, player (agent), doctor, and trainer. How smart, and / or how much pressure is extole to young players who have to weigh and balance of medical issues and potential to lose millions of dollars....or coming across as a wimp, and not being up for the big game. Both decisons obviously have serious implications. I know we are not privy to these personal discussions, but wonder on a proportional basis which side wins.

Dusty has abused pitchers, especially young ones, everywhere he has managed. What we are seeing should come as no surprise.

I never joined the fan club and never will. I knew what kind of idiot Dusty was before he was hired. We have some who have defended him since he's been here. There is at least one who wants him to win Manager of the Year. LOL Since Dusty has not been offered a new contract, he should see the writing on the wall. He's about to be history.

Was thinking the same, since so many MLB catchers have 20ish% throw out rates. Why doesn't analytics pick thiat up?

Don't worry. You are still the only troll here. LOL! You are also a stalker. You stalk me all over the board posting your bullshit. It's hilarious because everybody here sees right through you. LMAO This is an exact definition of you: "Trolls are people who leave intentionally provocative or offensive messages on the internet in order to get attention, cause trouble or upset someone." What is so hilarious is it doesn't upset me at all. I get a good laugh each time you do it.
