Javier’s 3 shut out innings were so clutch! PoG: Javier, Altuve, or Castro? For me it's definitely Castro. He's only been to the plate a few times this postseason but he delivered when it mattered. Honorable mention to Javier and Altuve. Oh and tip of the cap to Correa. I almost forgot what time it was until he reminded me!

Everyone else enjoying this rollercoaster? My choice for PoG is Javier. Just for the sheer reason that the cocky Sox batters finally realized they weren't invincible. After bashing the ball 20 innings, we finally messed their timing up. We have the big Mo now. Framber tomorrow, and Evoldi was wasted for prob. a 1/3 of a start. I always enjoy the ride when the team I'm rooting for is still playing. I try to not get too high when they win a game or too low when they lose a game.

I'm legit still confused about using Eovaldi like they did. I mean I guess they could bring him back on short rest in Game 7 but really, why bring in your best arm when you're in the driver's seat and it's tied?

I had to laugh my ass off, considering the Fox turds had pretty much cannonized Cora this week. Last night not only was Evoldi tagged with a loss, he pretty much spent about a 1/3 of his next start with the pitch count he accumulated last night. Got to love those double whammys.

Javier trying to get into that 2022 rotation. He should have been in the 2021 rotation. You are absolutely right. Javier, McCormick and Meyers have all been yanked around this season.

Cora thought if he went with someone who misses bats, theoretically he could stay in the game for 3 innings while we continued to burn up our bullpen

I think they were going for the throat...and it blew up. Same thing with Roberts and using Urias.

I'm looking at the next two seasons of MLB FA SP...I wouldn't be against Astros going after both Robbie Ray and Jon Gray this off-season. McCullers Ray Gray Valdez Urquidy/Garcia And of course, get a SS next year, and a reliever.

Ray and Gray will get paid pretty well, and a good SS even not at Correa's level will be expensive. I think we realistically can get one of those pitchers, a SS, and a top reliever. I also think they should be talking extensions with Tucker and Javier. Rotation: Ray or Gray McCullers Framber Javier Urquidy/Garcia Bullpen: Pressly FA Urquidy/Garcia Odorizzi Raley Stanek Maton Who knows with Baez, and we're stuck with Odorizzi. I'd love a bullpen good enough that Maton, Raley, and Taylor get pushed into being the bubble relievers.

Roberts is doing the same thing in LA and it hasn't paid off. Somewhat like Dusty did with McCullers in Chicago. We won the game and lost the pitcher. I wasn't surprised when Roberts made mistakes with his pitching ,but, I didn't expect Cora to use Eovaldi in the 9th last night.

Javier would be my starter in game six. Over 70 pitches last night, and start him on 2 days rest? Who are you .... Dusty? Javier threw 57 pitches last night. He isn't the ideal choice to start, but, who is? If not him, it's Luis Garcia or Urquidy. My guess Dusty wants Urquidy for a possible game 7.

I haven't seen enough of Ray to know what I think of him. Gray has been in Colorado so he's hard to judge. I wish we could sign a top lefty-reliever with a wipeout slider.

So, you want to just let Graveman walk? No, he could be the free agent reliever we sign. In his last few games, especially last night, he has looked like what we thought we were getting when we traded for him. I am not impressed with Yimi Garcia, and, I have my doubts about Baez.

Glad you mentioned him. Dusty has redefined Baseball. In the old days you used to have a late inning defensive replacement. Seems we got a late inning offensive replacement (Castro). Kidding aside, I hope Dusty starts Castro the rest of the post season. .045 is basically and automatic out, and we don't needs 3-5 more RISP situatons the rest of the season go with said auto-out.

I am not impressed with Yimi Garcia, and, I have my doubts about Baez. Yimi will be gone, but Baez is signed for next year. Let's hope he can get healthy and contribute. A potential back end of the bullpen of Pressly, Graveman, Stanek, and Baez could be excellent.

You are absolutely right. Javier, McCormick and Meyers have all been yanked around this season. If Javier is a starter next year, who are the long relievers? Odorizzi, Solomon? And both of them get spot starts next year. I reckon Click will be in the market for at least one but probably two veteran starters. So what happens with everyone else to start the year will be determined in ST. Who's healthy? Who has options? Who's performing well? Jake-O presents a problem. As much as many of us would like to write him off, he's on contract. He can't be sent to the minors so it's either a spot on the 26 or on the DL. Since his salary isn't insignificant, he'll have a slight edge to be in the rotation rather than the pen. That's just politics but it is how things work. Way too early do predict how the deck will be shuffled to start next season. JMO.
