without one individual drowning all of it with his daily complaints about Bregman and the field manager. No worries. I talked with abregmanfan and he has agreed to stop doing that. lol on another topic, I get Sherwin and Michael mixed up sometimes cause Sherwin has a Brantley avatar, and a Bregman jersey. If they switched avatars, my brain probably wouldn't get its wires crossed

I get it, but the cheating was blown out of proportion and we're going to hear more and more about other stuff going on (hopefully with this Yankee letter released soon), and the squabbling over money is not a new thing. There has got to be something damning for Manfred, MLB and the Yankees in that letter. Otherwise why would they be so reluctant to release it? I agree. Very shady.

deGrom shut down for a month due to shoulder problems. How sad. So dominant but can't stay on the field.

It’s sad how deGrom was a SP who actually didn’t get hurt for the Mets and now he’s like the rest.
How can you not win with deGrom, Harvey, Syndergaard, Matz, and Wheeler?

I think we are comming to a point where we should call the Orioles and ask what's the price for both Means and Mullins? If we can do this with out giving up Pena and maybe moving Diaz and Odorizzi in the deal I think we should atleast entertain the idea of the trade. Even if it temporarily hurts our Minor leagues it will grow back with a vengeance The only reason the Orioles would want to trade high performing players with low salaries, that have a couple of years of team control remaining, is if they cashed them in for oodles of future talent. Means is a 4-WAR player with 3 years of team control remaining and should cost them only about $3MM through arb this year. Mullins is a 5.8-WAR player with 4 years of team control remaining and he's making minimum wage. Please explain why the hell the Orioles would want anything to do with far more expensive players with lower WAR and almost no team control beyond this year, coming to them as part of return. It makes no sense! If Click made that call and suggested such a thing, Mike Elias would respond: "Are you drunk? Are you high? Do you have your head so far up your own ass you can taste yesterday's lunch?"Well let's say Hunter, Leon, Solomon, Urquidy, Perez, McCormick and Bobby Abreu along with your salary dumps Of Odorizzi and Diaz. I'm pretty sure Elias would entertain an offer as such

Maybe Diaz for Hosmer they eat some cash and Paddack

Hosmer is very versatile and comes in at the clutch. You get the Padras to eat that can some and he would be a steal

The Angels just DFA Justin Upton. There's no way anyone's going to pick up his 28 million contract, So he'll pass through waivers and then become a free agent. Then some team will sign him more than likely to league minimum.
Any interest?

The Angels just DFA Justin Upton. There's no way anyone's going to pick up his 28 million contract, So he'll pass through waivers and then become a free agent. Then some team will sign him more than likely to league minimum. Any interest? A little ... but not much. Ask yourself ... why do the Angels want to release JUp and why now? They can release him any time during the season. Financially, they'll only gain a pittance of relief. Just the amount of a minimum wage salary if another team signs him to a major league contract. What they really gain is a valuable roster spot. Another opportunity for developing a player who hopefully will perform above replacement level. (Upton hasn't sustained that level of performance for the past three seasons.) In all likelihood, the Angels will offer Upton a minor league contract, with a specified release date (perhaps June) if they don't promote him to the active roster. And I reckon he'll take that. Staying with the Angels will be less complicated than setting up season residence in a new city. But if the Angels don't make that offer, I'd be on-board with the Astros offering that kind of minor league deal. But I'd be dead-set against promising him he'll start the season in an Astros ML uniform. JMO

For league minimum where's the harm at least while Meyers is recovering? Depends on why he was cut. Why was the team willing to eat 28mm to get rid of him. He dies against right-handed pitchers and provides little defensive value. Everyone needs to look at his numbers, realize he's Brantley on defense, and decide if they really want him getting ABs instead of McCormick. Even at league-minimum.

Diaz is a utility infielder and Baez is topping out around 88 MPH, and both are free agents at the end of the year. You think the Padres will give us Paddack, a solid young SP with three seasons of team control, for those two guys? AND throw in a solid reliver in Johnson? AND pay all of Myers' salary so he can play for us?
