I think it's our time to pounce. Ask for Myers they pay the 25m, Chris Paddack and P. Johnson for Diaz and Pedro Baez Would love this deal. Mets feel threw Why in the hell would the Padres do that? Obviously you don't have Nathan's sources.

Why in the hell would the Padres do that? Obviously you don't have Nathan's sources. The source said Díaz was a 21-year old minor league sensation with comparisons to both Ozzie Smith and Alex Rodriguez.

Delino DeShields cut from the Marlins. Would be a nice add to the AAA club for CF depth who shows some OBP ability.

And we give up Castro, Montero and not a top 10 prospect....Get to work!

He was on a minor league contract with the Marlins so it wouldn't even cost them a 40-man slot to keep him. Maybe there was wording in the contract that required the Marlins to put him in a major league uniform on opening day, or cut him? idk.

They just signed Jordan Lyles this March, so they won't be able to trade him until mid-June unless Lyles agrees to the trade. And his salary this year is just $6MM. Trey Mancini will get an estimated $8MM in his final arb and being a FA at the end of the season, he could be a trade candidate. The Orioles would save a modest amount in salary and pick up a tasty prospect or two. There is no one else in their organization that represents any significant payroll savings, so the only reason they'd be traded would be so the Orioles could rape some team's farm system. We know you're hoping Click and Crane will bend over but I really doubt that's gonna happen.

So, the Yankees bitch endlessly about the Astros, yet they’re cool with Marwin and Beltrán in their organization?

I found it very timely that Beltran (now a Yankee employee again) and Cashman both release a statement talking about the Astros right before the Yankees letter is due to be released...
It wouldn't surprise me at all if some big extension with Judge gets announced right after the letter is released too.

If Yuli has another good year, I could see the Astros offering him a 1 year $12M deal, with a 2nd year $12M club option.
Unless Taylor Jones gets enough playing time, and he rakes.

Urquidy is a cool customer on the mound. Nothing rattles the guy.

Unless a young guy suddenly steps up, I don't see a better option easily available without a much higher cost. I'd like to see a little more power from 1B, but it's hard to complain about an .850ish OPS and solid defense.

You have to really be impressed by our rotation, when we're barely going to feel the loss of our 2nd highest paid starter. Our worst starter is a guy who was an all-star two years ago and had an ERA of 4.21 in 2021. I know we didn't make a ton of flashy moves with the pitching, but, other than maybe the Mets if they get all of their guys healthy, who has a better deeper rotation on paper than us?
Verlander 129 ERA+ Valdez 118 ERA+ Urquidy 124 ERA+ Garcia 126 ERA+ Odorizzi 104 ERA+ McCullers 116 ERA+ Javier 123 ERA+
Hell, even Bielak would be a serviceable cheap starter for a lot of teams.
