CC isn't wrong about Jeter, but what good does HIM saying that do? You insult a legend who is now also an owner in the league. You don't win anything with that.
If you want to say that GGs were maybe not handled as well in the past or something, fine. But singling out a specific player? Especially a player of his caliber and reputation? Dumb. Jeter was obviously overrated defensively and I was never really a fan of his, but the guy was DEFINATELY a HoF player who had some timeless moments.
It would be similar to Rhys Hoskins suddenly saying Bagwell was no good in the postseason. It's mostly true, but what purpose does that serve you?

Syndergaard in an Angels uniform is bad news. If healthy the lineup there is very legit, but they've just never had the pitching to challenge us. Surprised they'd give up a pick just for a one year deal though. But the Angels doing dumb things is nothing new I guess. EDIT: it's a done deal now My guess: Thor wanted wanted a 1 year deal to bet on himself for next year without a draft pick attached. If the Angels didn't agree, he most likely would have accepted the QO. The Angels are desperate for SP, so they agreed and if his arm doesn't hold up, it's just 1 year. The Angels are in win now mode and the draft won't yield any possible rewards for 2 or 3 years anyway. |

I think the differentiation should be made that Jeter was probably a smart fielder but not a good fielder.
