I would still like Bell, but at this point if we can get just one more player, I'd say get a legit reliever. This bullpen scares me. Why not both? Paredes for Chafin, make it happen Nathan! |

Are you starting to think Brantley's shoulder is pretty serious? The fact that they've been utterly silent on him for a while is extra concerning. But even if he does come back, you could do this: Altuve 2B Brantley LF Bregman 3B Yordan DH Mancini RF Bell 1B Tucker CF Pena SS Vazquez C Goodness, look at that lineup. OF defense would not be excellent but maybe that doesn't matter at least on Framber/McCullers nights because of the GB-K game. |

is anyone else wondering why the Rays even wanted Jose Siri?? The grass is always greener. Every team looks at the guys on other clubs and says to themselves "if we can get our coaches to work with him, maybe we can fix (insert flaw) about his game." And the Rays are great about that, so I won't bet against them. But if we couldn't, it's not super likely they can, either. Worst case he's an excellent pinch runner and defensive replacement, and there is certainly value there. |

BTW one very important point about Valdez and Abreu, who we sent to Boston; they are both Rule 5 eligible this coming off-season. So Houston would have had to find a 40-man spot for them or risk losing them for nothing anyway. They may have done so for Valdez but likely not Abreu.

If we're being completely honest, he's likely an elite defender. Even if he never hits, he has value in CF, especially while he is very cheap.
