Not sure what everyone expects Click to have gotten done that he didn't. Cubs traded Contreras to nobody, and anyone having a shot at Bell was blocked by the Nats trying to get Soto done first A good reliever. That's all. That's not too much to ask, is it? He did it last year. Lots of people did it this year.

6. Got rid of Siri 7. Got rid of Odo So Odorizzi leaves with the following production as an Astro: 10-10 (Team was 20-16 in his starts) 4.04 ERA (103 ERA+) 164 IP over two partial seasons. Not great, but not horrible. At least the complaints will end. He sealed his fate when he was pitching terribly and ran his mouth to the press about being mistreated. Dumbasses don't generally help win championships.

I feel like some of that got overblown. The team didn't seem to have any issue with him.

Being "demoted" for not doing your job and then being a crybaby about it in public isn't the path that engenders warm fuzzys from your employer.

Overall the team got better, assuming that Dusty is intelligent enough to actually, you know, PLAY the guys for whom Click just traded.

Maybe he's allowing Vasquez a couple of days to catch some of the guys before being tossed into a game situation. Mancini should walk straight from the airplane to the batter's box.

Yeah but I think if he was pitching better they wouldn't have traded him.

I guess I’m more impressed than most with what Click accomplished. He checked several boxes – bench, catcher, corner OF – that folks took issue with during the season, and he didn’t wait until the last minute to do so. This is the second trade deadline now I think he’s done his job assembling a postseason roster, and it’s up to the team and manager to win it. We didn’t get the guys we wanted, but that’s customary

Except Boyd and he's injuredI just feel like that's not necessary. The three batter rule makes having a lefty in the pen a lot less important. Teach your righties changeups and cutters.

If Brantley can still play, Click did a great job, but I’m not holding my breath on that one.

Hopefully, they get promoted. The CF job needs more competition, and the bench could always use more bats.

I give Click a solid B. He upgraded two of our weak areas on offense, and possibly improved our bullpen (time will tell). We didn't lose anybody of value that we care about and we freed up money for next year.
Sure, it would have been nice to add Bell or another reliever, but I think he did well.

I give Click a B+. We kept our top prospects and the team improved.

I had no lasting animosity toward Odorizzi but I'm not sorry to see him go. I am glad to see Showboat being dealt.

Javier has the best stuff of the young pitchers, but Urquidy is right below Framber in being the most consistent.

So over his last 7 appearances, Will Smith has a WHIP of 1.000, has not allowed an earned run, and has a 6:1 K:BB.
Is it a fluke, or is he starting to show signs of coming alive and getting back to that 2021 postseason form?
