Sorry @txheat10k you didn't mention the talent pipeline at all, and keeping it flowing But A for effort Thanks Bear. I was more thinking what was impacting the group of 25 already on the team. But you are right, the morale of our best talent has to be impacted by the log jam. And if you ask me, that is a pretty nice predicament, as long as your aren't the player being 'show-blocked".

You used to be able to punish catchers by matching them up with Knuckle ball Pitchers like Joe Niekro. I haven't seen a successful one in years or any in a while for that matter. RA Dickey is the only recent one I know of. Steven Wright

I actually met him 20+ years ago after a show he did. I said Mr. Wright, you're the only stand-up comedian I can relate to. He said well I'm proud and sorry for you

More evidence of the Selig/Manfred NBAization of MLB? Check out these records at the near 1/4 pole.....
Orioles- 8 wins 27 losses .220 pct. Reds- 9 wins 27 losses .250 pct White Sox- 9 wins 24 losses .273 pct.
3 teams this deep Into the season under .300? Nope, I don't buy the poor random bastard theory.

Genreal observation.....
What is the deal with the tidal wave of cooking shows on now. I like to cook too, but these kind of shows in generally tax my normally decent attention span.
Now if they had an episode where a pissed off chef would beat the shit out of Gordon Ramsey???....... then I might tune it for the half hour.

I think folks have been waiting 10 years for a Gordon Ramsey/Simon Cowell throwdown. MTV would've done a Celebrity Death Match by now if it was still on the air

Apparently we are supposed to care that an inbred Prince is marrying a mulatta from the colony while her dad and family proves the accuracy of stereotypes.

Sounds riveting.... the only reason to watch the news is to make yourself feel better about yourself ALA Springer and Co. TV is full of shows that are only sucessful because of that reason. They are being watched so they can Say My Life Isn't SO Bad After All.

Thank goodness I don't really watch TV (unless it's a sporting event). I also stopped watching the news several years ago; the slant was too much.

Just a moment for a plug to the new forum site.
Got to give props to Bortaz et al for giving us a tool that was 1000% better than before. Funny, what seemed like a disaster at the time, ended up so well.
Still, very disappointed in MLB in canning their boards without warning, or even giving everyone the common courtesy of AT LEAST archiving the old site.
Again in the Selig, Manfred era, does anyone really think MLB gives a shit about it's fans.

I've come to the conclusion that the most frustrating things in life is when the mower doesn't start or breaks, and the grass is ankle deep.
2nd most?- You've spent 3 hours changing plug, fuel, belts, filters, and battery, and still won't. In 90 degree heat no less.
3rd most?- Getting zinged by wife that you can't fix it, and you have to get it repaired.
Nothing Runs like a Deere (99% of the time)

I've had several JDs; currently have 4 (two lawn mowers, two tractors). They're awesome when they run but when they break get ready to reach deep. One of the plastic(!) hoods on one of my mowers shattered recently (it's a 2006 model). Thought I'd just toss a new one on there...until I found out they wanted $400 for it. So, the last two times I've mowed the yard it's been without a hood. I'll eventually remit the extortion money, but I'm a cheapskate at heart and I have to be in the right frame of mind to pay $400 for a piece of plastic.

Oh, and I'd take the plug out, re-attach it to the coil wire, ground it against the engine, turn the key and see if it sparks (making sure no flammables are nearby). They only need air, fuel and spark to run. No spark probably means a bad coil (probably).

Repairman only charged $20 labor after I suggested that that easy of a repair would take 10 minutes at most. Needless to say, I bought 2, and have a spare.

I've come to conclusion that the odds of getting an accurate order from a fast food restaurant is approaching zero percent.
Point..... counterpoint.......
(1) Poor educating (2) A whole generation of idiots have been begat (3) Taking and completing instructions is an art lost for the ages.
Me?? leaning (2), but hoping (3)

Many times I've left the drive through because they didn't speak English and I won't speak Spanish.

I gave the drive through girl $10.02, expecting a buck/.05 in change. (Detest pennies) Perplexed.... she asked why I gave her 2 cents. Honestly.... I wish I could have given her 2 cents, but you never know what kind of special sauce may be added to your order.

I stop off at her work to pick my wife up as she has the car seat and lo and behold some jackass had backed into her car and took off. Now this was right in front of a business with lots of glass and lots of people and I go inside and ask if anyone had seen anything and nope. Somebody smashes in the back quarter panel of a car and knocks the back end over 2' and no one sees anything or hears anything from just 25' away. Of course it could of happened in the 15 minutes between when my wife got to work and the store opened. Right?

When I went back by there a little while ago I noticed a camera on the building across the street that perhaps has an angle on it that will allow me to see the vehicle. I sure hope so. Now all I have to do is find out what I will have to do to get that tape.

Give any thought of filing a police report (hit/run). That will make it a lot easier to be able to secure any camera evidence. Shop owner will be a lot more likely cooperate with a cop than you.
