Maybe the Texans need new ownership. Let someone buy the team that will put a quality product on the field. Maybe the new owner could move the team to San Antonio. Prediction - Houston Texans win a SB five years from now .. That year, the Cowboys will have gone 30+ years without winning a SB.

Why would Houston want them to move to San Antonio? We just want a new owner. We need the Oilers name back. Amen.

Whew.....
Texans almost blew it and won one today against a 10-3 team in OT.
Don't want to risk that 1st round, 1st pick pick do we?

Even with a win yesterday they are still in line for the first overall Pick. Let’s not get cute though and win anymore.

After an epic season of horrific terribleness, Texans actually win by one point at the very end, thereby losing the #1 overall pick. ROTFL you just can't make it up, one of the worst franchises in pro sports.

Texans have to be the Laughable Losers.

And they have CMC now and I like him a lot.

It is very easy and in many cases appropriate to point at the Texans and laugh. I mean really you draft Stingley third ahead of Gardner, (who by the way was the top rated corner in the entire nfl last year), you draft Green and he is the lowest rated tackle in all of football, then you trade a handful of picks in a very deep draft to draft a guy who is going to be your slot receiver and he gets cancer, we have to be snake bit, nobody can screw up the majority of a very deep draft with high picks. The Texans can. But really one thing you can not point at and say it was a bad idea was the firing of Smith. The world has passed him by, in all of the nfl no team was even close to having so many players on defense out of position on any given play as the Texans were. Not even close according to PFF. So given the fact that Lovie was a defensive coach and his defense was horrible and always over here when they should of been over there, and he refused to change or modify the approach, he had to go.
Now we have to figure out as an organization how to convince someone worth a crap to come here and fix this mess. We have the picks, we have the money, the question is can we put it all together and put a competitive team out there.

I don’t buy the “play to win the game” garbage by Lovie. This is the same guy who nursed a tie in Week 1 of the season. I just think he knew what was coming and set the bridge on fire on the way out. That’s why I don’t subscribe to the “poor coach” response by the fans.

One of the biggest damning things against Smith and the OC, for me, is how Davis Mills actually got substantially WORSE this year. I mean nobody expected him to be great, but he went from actually having a pretty solid rookie season, to leading the league in INT and dropping his QB rating by 10 points. His passer rating index dropped by 14 points!
There are a few good young defensive players that have plenty of potential, and Pierce is obviously going to be a good RB for a few years at least, but they still need so much work.

I'm just talking about Smith and Hamilton. Casserio has been very hit or miss so far...

Why draft a corner who is excellent at man coverage and put him in a zone system that the head coach refuses to modify to take advantage of the strengths of his players. Maybe the coach said he would work on it. Maybe not, even with that any coach who sticks religiously to his system when the players he has can not succeed at playing it is grounds for becoming unemployed.

So far, Mills doesn’t look like The Guy.

Hamilton got the job because of his success with Herbert on the Rams. So far, Mills doesn’t look like The Guy. Mills is obviously not the guy, but it was the right thing to do to stick with him this year. There's no reason why he can't be an adequate backup for us if we go get a new QB this draft. And they need to. Usually I don't agree with going high with a QB pick since the QB won't matter if you don't have a team around him. A good QB can elevate your team, but he can't win it all. Look at when we had Watson. But, we have enough high picks this year and next to get a potential "franchise" QB now and start trying to move forward with some other high picks. Get Stroud or Bryce, I don't care which honestly. But get a good QB, a legit coach that you're going to commit to rain or shine for at least a few years, maybe an edge defender that can help elevate the defense, and then start trying to build forward. And if I'm Casserio, I'm on the phone with Watt seeing if he'd come back for a final season to close out his career and help be a leader on the defense while they try to building it up. He's obviously still effective, and Texans fans deserve a chance to see him go properly, imo. Maybe that's just the fanboy in me talking, I don't know. Sign a solid veteran wide receiver that doesn't mind being on a rebuilding team too.

I agree with Lovie playing to win. He probably thought the front office is too dumb to know what to do with the #2 pick anyway (much less the #1)
