Well, I want to be mad about the tie (especially considering they were up by 17 going into the 4th quarter), but considering I expected them to lose once they got to OT, I guess it could have been worse.
Davis Mills looked pretty good for most of the game. Defense was mostly effective too.
I don't expect them to be good, but maybe they won't be embarrassing...

This team looks like the expansion era Texans. The defense will keep you in the game, but the offense will take you out of it.

Defense looked strong, run game looked good, and they played mostly mistake free.

Houston's linebackers are a joke, a very bad joke at that. Though the rookies are having some issues the secondary looks good and the line is serviceable but oddly enough the pass rush is lacking.
The offensive line is the best part of the team but really needs a dominate center like Schmitz. Our tightness are a dumpster fire and the wide receivers are sorely lacking. Pierce is a good solid find in the fourth round and Mills does not have the fire in his eyes or in his attitude. Mister Milk toast but better than the top guys coming out this year.
All in all though a good bit of work has been done fixing the insane mess left by butt chin and buddies. The job seems to be about half done. Kind of like the Astros Circa 2014.

At least Easterby he is out. Step in the right direction. Get Andre Johnson back in the FO and keep working this rebuild.

Got bored so I looked at the qbs coming out this year. Young is too small, if he was 4 inches taller and 30 lbs heavier then he would be a no brainer. Stroud is flakey, typical Ohio state qb. Levis has trouble when under pressure, he does not read the defense and guesses too much under pressure. Still if you are going to take a guy he is the one, I would not take him 1-1 though. Trade back to 10 or so and take the extra picks. This team needs 10 new starters to get competitive. They can get 4 in free agency this year and draft at least three this year and then the same next year, so 23 will suck as well, just not as much. 24 will be interesting.

He has not played under pressure much at OSU. He will for the Texans if they draft him. |
