He’s always been the smartest hitter at the plate. When his production returned this season, he clearly returned to best Astro hitter form. Yeah but so many here wanted to abandon ship on him, like they do Altuve every year. I need names!

This is one reason we should hope Hensley is legit. Brantley will probably need significant off days, and if Yordan can play LF those days, that frees up the DH. Bregman could use several DH days per month to hopefully not get banged up as much. If Hensley is able to fill in nicely at 3B, it frees Bregman to hopefully be scaled back a little more but keep his bat in the lineup. I hope the fans are right about Hensley like they were about Peña. Click and Crane seemed to have made out like bandits by letting Correa go, especially now since that one doctor said Correa’s ankle was the worst he’s ever seen. Danielle is probably going to end up dumping Correa's gimpyass (Corch style) soon... The next thing we'll see is that she is dating Pete Davidson (the ugly rebound guy)....

I've got alittle news for ya. There is a valid reason the Astros are talking about Salvador Perez. Apparently, there was some hard times trying to get Maldy back with the Astros and may be just a year to year player from here forward. His age with injurys have hampered him alittle and it took some convincing for him to stay. Also the Royals want SPs young and ready. Astros made it clear who is not avaliable. I don't know who they said is not but apparently it's been said as much. Astros also talked about Scott Barlow and a couple guys down in the Royals minor league system. Gentry Loftin and Waters. Astros are looking to add a CF hopeful some where some how to push this roster forward. There is a clear connection with Dana and Waters and this could be a key grab for him going forward. From todays chat at MLBTR: “1:06 Have you seen anything whatsoever that indicates the Astros and Royals are in discussions on a deal that would send Perez to the Astros. There is a guy I know who wants everyone to think that he has “inside sources” who have told him that such a deal is in the works. Steve Adams 1:06 The Royals aren't trading Perez, and he'd have full veto power over any proposed deal anyway.”

So we get minority rule instead. Majority rules is the main principle of a Democratic Republic. Before I respond to this I have to make sure I am not being a bully to some little kid. How old approximately are you, have you graduated from high school. How about you just pass on this opportunity?

This team shouldn’t trade for older veterans unless they have a farm ranked in the top third of MLB.

We signed Bryan Garcia for some reason... Maybe just AAA depth. Yeah depth. Garcia was actually a decently-regarded prospect and still has a solid-average FB/SL combo. He got a lot of whiffs on the slider last year, too. And he has one option left. Something to work with maybe. EDIT: Garcia's swing + miss rate on his slider by season... 2020: 30.8% 2021: 38.5% 2022: 46.4% Statcast also indicates he dropped his 4-seamer completely last year to focus on his sinker, so it will be interesting to see what direction they take him; try to bring back and improve the 4-seamer as they do with so many, or let him stick with the sinker and try to go the groundout/strikeout combo way of LMJ and Framber. I'll be interested to follow his progress in AAA.

It's almost as good as them backing out on Brady Aiken, and after the media hammered them for lying and ruining those poor kid's dreams, getting Bregman the next year instead, and Aiken's arm exploding immediately after he started pitching in college, then completely exploding with Cleveland after they took a chance. Meanwhile Jacob Nix died in the Majors in 2018 and washed out the next year.

I don't think the pitching will take a step back because Verlander is somewhere else. I think he'll probably regress to a threeish ERA as well

It's just that arguing politics with a troll from another team, on this baseball forum, can only lead to bad things. One could argue it is high school civics and should not be political but I guess since we do not teach the basics of how of government is supposed to work anymore it really has become political. All you can do is shake your head.

All you can do is shake your head. US Government was a mere half-year class during my senior year, with the other half year being economics. They saved the classes about how our government and our economy work for the final year when everyone is asleep, and made them half as long as every other class. The government teacher was a big believer in the Kennedy assassination conspiracy theory and spent a lot of time on that; the economics teacher basically just told us to show up and turn things in and he'd pass us. I don't remember a single thing from either class except for that the government teacher swears he talked to a woman who witnessed Nixon, Bush sr., and several other major officials walk out of a room together talking about doing Kennedy in. That was 18 years ago and it was already that bad. Imagine how stunted and brainwashed the kids being churned out nowadays are.

Meanwhile Jacob Nix died in the Majors in 2018 and washed out the next year. The Astros FO said a physical or something showed Aiken to be a TJS risk. His camp refuted the claim and demanded market value or they would try for next season’s draft. Aiken ended up with the surgery and flamed out after the Indians took a flyer on him in 2015. He was finally released a season ago, one of three first overall picks to never pitch in the big leagues. This was part of Luhnow’s dynamic legacy here.

I remember a draft where it seemed every pick seemed to be a pitcher and none of them really made it. Of course we did trade a couple of them to Arizona for Grienke so we did get something out of that draft.

Until and including 1965 you had to take a Civics Class and Pass before you could get your Diploma. Starting 1966 no more Civics and they went to Social Studies which is a joke. That Class had to be taken in your Senior Year.
