We may need Whitley regardless if we prefer otherwise, depending on García and some of the others struggling at the moment. Whether they can right the ship Yeah, we may all be tired of him, but whatever puts us in the best position to win is the right way. There needs to be a contingency for Lance’s injuries and Urquidy or García losing their way.

I have grown weary of McFragile. I don’t think he deserves to just step in and bump Urquidy, Garcia or Brown out of the rotation when…if he gets healthy. Let him be the #6 starter in a 6-man rotation or a spot starter/long reliever.
He has been coddled ever since he first joined the ML team.

They're paying him too much to not use him as a regular starter when he's healthy. The answer is a 6-man rotation where they don't have to worry excessively about pitch counts. Let the starters go an extra inning here or there and keep the bullpen fresh. I give Dusty a lot of sh*t, but I felt like he did a very good job with the bullpen last postseason. Part of his ability to do that was because they didn't get overused during the regular season since our rotation did well. That should be the goal again this year even if we don't have JV.

He has been coddled ever since he first joined the ML team. Before...remember, he made a fuss out of being paid over slot when we drafted him. Money could have probably been better spent.

He’ll never be a 6th starter with the money he’s making.

Even if they want to eventually trade him, it would be wise to hang onto him at least until the deadline, letting him build more value and possibly helping at the MLB level, if not next off-season even.

Dirden and Lee were both 1-for-4.
Hamilton and Wagner were both 2-for-4 for Corpus. Wager is hitting .375 out of the gate.
Asheville is in the 11th inning. Gilbert is 2-for-6. Freudis Nova, who still exists somehow, is 4-for-6. He hit a go-ahead two-run bomb in the top of the 11th.
Fayetteville followed up their 15-2 win last night with a 12-4 whooping. Last year's 3rd-rounder was Michael Knorr, he posted a 4.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 K line tonight. Zach Cole jr. (10th round pick last year, some pop, lots of walks and SB, lots of Ks too though) was 2-for-4, but erased himself trying to steal both times on. Whitaker drew a walk and hit a three-run tank but struck out three times as well. Leosdany Molina is another Cuban, good defensive shortstop with serious wheels, hoping for the bat to break out this year. He was 2-for-4.

Management is milking it for as long as possible.

Management is milking it for as long as possible. How is he a fallback option? He's been in pro ball longer than you've been married, and has never sniffed the MLB or had what would be considered a successful MiLB season. He hasn't ever even had a successful spring training.

Quincy Hamilton was 2-for-3 with a walk, and has a .924 OPS.
Colton Gordon for the Hooks: 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K
Gilbert was 2-for-4 with a walk, a steal, and an RBI. First game without a strikeout as well. He's had two hits in each of his last four games.
Melton was 1-for-4 (two-run bomb) and a walk.
Fayetteville won 14-7. They've scored 49 runs in their last four games! Averaging 8.4 runs per game on the season.
Ryan Clifford was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. He has an 1.131 OPS thus far.
Whitaker's first homer of the season was a three-run shot. Still struck out twice though.
3-for-4 with a walk and no strikeouts for Cole jr.

To celebrate, he took some Adderall and developed a hangnail while walking to the injured list.

two outings 4 innings in each one. When they stretch him out he will get injured. I am not an expert on physical development but he was a fat kid that went through a growth spurt and his body has never fully developed correctly. Let him continue to throw 4 innings or less for a full year and maybe that finally happens.

A tandem of Lance and Whitley for a while would be a good way to give the bullpen a day off. Send Blanco and Martinez back to AAA for now.
Framber Javier Urquidy Brown Garcia Lance/Whitley
Pressly Stanek Montero Abreu Neris Maton

Framber Javier Urquidy Brown Garcia Lance/Whitley Pressly Stanek Montero Abreu Neris Maton We're carrying one pitcher less than allowed already, and as far as I can tell Salazar's only role here is to rob the three ABs that Diaz might actually get each week from him. Ship Martinez and Salazar off to Sugar Land IMO.

Ryan Clifford is annihilating Low-A ball so far; .400/.564/.550 in 11 games. That OBP man; he's walked 12 times in those games. Three doubles, a bomb, a stolen base as well. He is striking out a lot, but what a great start just at age 19.
