Jake Bloss has been scratched from his start tonight. Thoughts on losing Bloss in a trade? I like Bloss but the chances of him being more than a #4 are not high. Not that he's someone you give up on for nothing (and this would be especially so since he's so controllable), but he's the type of guy you can replace in free agency without spending a fortune. Depending on the return I'm fine with it. |

Depending on the return I'm fine with it. Got to give up something to get something. Just wish we would have traded McCullers on the hype back when he was wanted by many. These are the types of trades that can hurt down the road but got to do what we got to do to win now. |

Deals this year have been too expensive across the board. If it really is Bloss, that's just too much. The other starters haven't been costing this much IMO. I will say it again; this team MUST quit piddling around in the off-season. Get some real depth instead of blowing holes in the farm system for rentals. Every single year it's the same thing. They could have had Kikuchi for the past two seasons plus this one at just $12 million per year. Now they're having to give up a solid prospect's entire career for a few months of the guy. |

Yeah, if that is the case then Dana is not a good trade GM. He should just focus on drafts, which he is good at. He should be demoted to director of scouting if that's really the trade. That is a stupendous overpay. Jake Bloss, depending on who you talk to, was our #2 pitching prospect. He had a four pitch mix and his fastball is graded plus across the board. You can't give up that guy, his whole six years, already with some MLB experience under his belt, AND two more guys, for a rental of a guy with an ERA of almost 8 over the last couple of months. If that's as good as you can do, you are not fit for the job, period. |

Rome saying "two more prospects going" so I'm assuming it's Bloss + 2 for a Kikuchi rental. Mercy. Brown has looked just bad as an MLB GM so far, I don't know how else to say it. Great drafts, not great on the MLB side.

It is what it is. If JV comes back and Kikuchi is our worst starter, that's a heck of a rotation....
Seems like a steep price though. Another pennant (or better) would be worth it though.
